20's Television Show - Twilight Zone: The Trouble with Templeton
Twilight Zone is a very popular sci-fi and suspense series with over 150 episodes, not including the spin-offs and remakes. The original series premiered during the late 1950’s until the early 1960’s. It features themes that were taboo and new back then. In one of its episodes, The Trouble with Templeton, a Broadway actor defies time-space continuum to reunite with his youth and wife. Set in the late 1920’s, the culture and technology were well established, they even highlighted the relationship between the African-Americans and Americans. One thing notable aside from the aforementioned is the way they acted. It feels unnatural and exaggerated. But ironically, this gave a feeling of sincerity. I am a tad peculiar about the lighting though. This episode was filmed in black and white and though the resolution is commendable, the way they played with the shadows and with the spotlight made it a little troubling for me to watch. Other than that, we can see how keen they were in implementing strict morals that go with the era.
