Character Information
Name: Inara Serra
Fandom: Firefly
Timeline Summary: End of the 14th/final episode, “Objects in Space”
Are you importing your character from another game? No.
Background:
“Every well-bred petty crook knows that the small, concealable weapons always go to the far left of the place setting.”Personality: While many would say her most important aspect is her physical beauty, Inara Serra isn’t just a pretty face and a rockin’ body. Far from it, in fact, she’s the epitome of fearless dignity and grace tied together with ribbons of pride and passion. She’s feisty, naturally flirtatious, gentle and good-natured. Her sense of humor tends to be lightly sarcastic and playful. Her independent disposition can make her seem a bit rebellious or cold at times but in truth she’s very much a “people person”, preferring the company of others to being alone. She’s also highly intelligent and cultured. Being a Companion isn’t about sex alone, after all; the spirit must be cherished along with the body, and her Companion training only amplified her compassion and perceptivity. She has a knack for reading people’s emotions, but she’s not empathic by any means, simply highly observant. She tries to be candid with people, rarely skirting around sensitive or “inappropriate” topics, though she does know when to use tact and how to ease into uncomfortable or painful subjects. Despite having the weight of a number of secrets buried in her heart, Inara is almost always smiling, wanting the people she cares about to be happy. She’s a loyal, trustworthy friend, willing to step outside of the law if they need her to. The opposite stands for her enemies and people who have displeased her or hurt her friends. When angry, Inara is more than a force to be reckoned with. Hell Hath No Fury and all that.
Powers, Skills, and Abilities: Swordplay, martial arts, use of bow and arrow, use of firearms, performing arts (dancing/singing).

[The feed comes on to show a woman with a burnished complexion, dark eyes and dark, wavy hair. She looks calm, having taken several minutes to compose herself. Panicking was a good way to into trouble, after all, especially in unfamiliar places. She’s also taken some time to look over the communication device, noting the plethora of names in the contact list she doesn’t recognize -- except for one. Kaylee. She gives a small but bright smile.] Hello. If anyone would be so kind as to direct me to whoever is in charge of this place? I have some questions I'd like answered -- like where I am, exactly. The doctor wasn't very forthcoming.
Third Person:
She could have screamed. Mal was standing in the doorway of her shuttle. Again. Without permission, as usual. She knew he wasn’t slow so the constant, repeated invasions of privacy must have been intentional. Slowly turning to face him, Inara plastered on her brightest smile. “Yes?”
“Was just wonderin’ if you had any clients, since we’re heading into Alliance territory again.”
Inara let the smile slip. “I’m not sure that’s any of your business.”
“I suppose you’re right, but I’m asking anyway.”
If only there was something heavy and unbreakable near by to throw at him. Inara sighed. At least he was asking nicely… or as nicely as Mal got, anyway. “No. I did have two messages but neither interests me. I was planning on accompanying you around.”
“Oh?”
“Can’t leave you on your own to get into trouble so soon after the last time, can I?”
Mal straightened slightly, crossing his arms over his chest. “Hey, I had that covered.”
“If by covered you mean you were seconds from being shot through the wall, sure, yes, you absolutely had it covered.”
“That was all part of the plan.”
“Dying was part of your plan?”
Mal stared at her for several seconds, nearly a full minute before he shook his head. “Well, no, but I would’ve figured something out.”
“Can’t you ever just say, ‘Thank you for saving me, Inara’?”
She didn’t get a response that time beyond the turning of his back as he left the shuttle. Genuinely smiling to herself, she returned her attention to the outfit she was altering for Kaylee as a present.
