30 Days Book Meme: Day One
Saw this on another LJ blog, and thought of me! My obsessively orderly brain then insisted I wait until the first of a new month, so here goes! (Although, some of the upcoming meme questions have actually stumped me, so this could be an interesting survey!)
Day One: Best book you read last year
One Day by David Nicholls
Now, because of the film, this book is everywhere - my fellow Librarythingers review page consists almost entirely of this and The Help (another novel which is so last year) - but back in the day, I thought I'd stumbled across a funny, quirky 'bloke lit' story about a girl from Leeds. Damn Anne Hathaway! Needless to say, I won't be watching the film, even when I can rent a free copy from LoveFilm, because a) I have read the book, and b) I'm from Yorkshire. My teeth couldn't stand all the grinding.
