RICHARD GOT ASSAULTED!
He was walking right behind City Hall at lunch time yesterday -- loads of people going about their business and enjoying the weather when wham! some guy coming from the other direction punched Richard right in the eye and kept on going!!
With all these people around, no one realized anything happened until Richard started yelling. By the time the alarm was raised the guy was gone but plenty of people could give police a description.
I left work and raced to the emergency room to find Richard sitting in a hallway holding an ice bag to his face. Finally the doctor said he could go but warned us about the potential of a concussion or broken orbital bones* :(
Today he looks like a monster. Richard's still the cheerful happy person he's always been but half his face is purple, swollen and monstrous. He says it doesn't hurt but it sure looks painful to me.
Nice start to the weekend, eh? I'm so relieved that crazy man didn't use a knife
*waiting for CT scan would have taken 5 hours, so we decided to leave
