Last time I posted the lyrics to Green Days "Time of your life" song. I love this song, not just because it is an awesome piece of music but that the words also speek to me
( Read more... )
His comment on it was "It is amazing what will wonder by if you sit still long enough."
(the transposition of wander/wonder is rather appropriate I think;-)
The dragon-fly might never have landed and he would have wasted his time, however another way to look at it would be finding enjoyment in sitting in the meadow in the early morning and using that time to expand heart, mind and spirit.
Waiting is...
as much a part of the journey as the destination.
Besides how would we know the "enjoyable times" if we did not have the "less enjoyable times" with which to compare.
So since a song started this off I will leave you with my choice:
I like your thoughts. Thank you. Maybe it's like when you plant a tree, it's so lovely to watch and wait and care for it. Until very gradually over the years mature there are full-grown apples ready to eat. Immediacy from the grocery store is nowhere near as enjoyable (IMHO).
very poignent. Thank you for the fresh perspective. Truly words to take to heart.
I like your posted song too! :D
I hope to see you tomorrow. btw, can you bring C's spear? Its either that, or a Red Green special again. lol. One of these days I will just have to buy one myself!
I hear ya on the reminders of the short time we have.
Instead of only doing things we enjoy a different perspective might be "find enjoyment in everything that you do"
As an example, C was out with his camera and managed to capture this:

As a person who has an unhappy reaction to something sprayed on grocery store apples I agree wholeheartedly with your analogy. ;-)

Won't be there tonight. C and I are heading up to Edmonchuck for the other hot tub party and luau this year.
I will try to drop the spear off with D or Wackychick. Before we go.
