Shiho was again walking through Violet, getting rather tired of this city. She would have to discuss leaving it over Kudou-kun again. After all, they had been here for weeks. And Shiho wanted to move on, and get to a new city. Mostly to feel like she wasn't entirely out in the open, and vulnerable. It was better for her to be moving around. Especially with someone she trusted, like Kudou-kun. He hadn't been here long, but still hung onto the "kidnapping" theory. Shiho wondered if he would ever drop that idea. She knew he disliked it here, but it wasn't that bad. Oh well, couldn't hurt to talk about it again.
As Shiho walked back into the inn, and back up to their room. She didn't even bother to knock, and just walked right into the room.
"Kudou-kun, I was hoping to talk to y-"
She stopped. That was odd. He wasn't in their room. Shiho walked over to the bathroom, and knocked on the door.
"Kudou-kun?" No answer. It was strange. Usually he was here in the room with Arthur, trying to figure out the "mechanics". Shiho turned around to begin searching for him outside. But as she did, she tripped over something, and fell.
"What the--"
It was Arthur. And he looked.............so sad. Shiho just grumbled, and turned toward him. "Arthur, don't do that. It's a bad prank. Anyway, where's Kudou-kun?"
Arthur just whimpered, and nuzzled her. "Arthur, stop that. Now, do you know where Kudou-kun went?" He whimpered again, and tried to cuddle against her. She simply pushed him away, and got out her Pokegear.
"I'm going to have something to say to him about this." Shiho dialed his number, and waited for a reply. But all she got was:
*ERROR. NUMBER NO LONGER IN USE. BEEEEEEEEP*
Shiho stayed motionless for a few moments. I must have accidentally dialed the wrong number. But Shiho knew. Deep down, she knew what happened. She dialed again.
*ERROR. NUMBER NO LONGER IN USE. BEEEEEEEEP.*
She remained motionless a little longer. But soon stood up, and headed for the door. "M-maybe his Pokegear just broke. I'll simply have to look for him, that's all." But when she reached the door, Arthur ran over and grabbed her skirt, and tried to pull her back, tears in his eyes. Shiho simply looked down at him, and then sunk to the floor. All at once, a wave of emotions came over her. Sadness, pain, fear, panic, anger, regret..........."It's.....not fair."
Shiho picked up Arthur, and hugged him. She held him close as tears came down her face. It's fine, really. He didn't want to be here, anyway. And at least he got the antidote. So now he'll be able to live his life normally again. She thought those things over to herself over and over. Anything to help with the horrible pain that came with losing the one person she trusted. The one person who was always there for her, and promised to protect her. But that can't happen anymore. All she had were her Pokemon Nothing else. With all of the pain and sadness she was feeling, a fearful thought popped into her mind.
I'm more vulnerable now.
With that on her mind, she immediately got up, and began packing. Luckily she quit her job last Friday so she could get out of Violet quickly. Without Kudou-kun with her, she felt so much more open and conspicuous. More likely that, even though the Organization wasn't here, she could still be targeted if she didn't move enough. She quickly went down to the lobby, paid her rent, and rushed to the Pokemon Center. There, she deposited one of her Pokemon, and took Arthur with her instead.
"We have to get out of Violet now." Shiho didn't want to ask Hattori-kun to come. He didn't seem......careful enough. Even if he was from her world, she hardly knew him. And still couldn't trust him.
Before long, Shiho was on the outskirts of Violet City, Arthur right beside her. She look down at him with sad eyes, and said "Let's go."
_______
[After Shiho was a fair distance away from Violet City, she sent out a text.]
Shinichi Kudou has gone home.
[Brief, concise, and short. That's how it had to be kept.]
