Title: Running Man
Summary: 14.15 Drabble. Sam can't run, and he can't hide.

Running Man
It's family that Sam fights for, and it's family that he lives for. After all, it was Dean's name alone that shook him out of the psychic's hold in Charming Acres.
Sam can't run any more, and he can't drown himself in fake happiness either. His family needs him.
But hiding in every room, and in every dark corridor of the bunker, are the ghosts of his failure.
A captain goes down with his ship, but Sam's still standing. Deep down, that feels like an ultimate betrayal that he just can't hide from, no matter how much time he gives himself.
A/N: I really enjoyed this episode; from the unsettling and uncanny feel of the town, to all the humour ("God has a beard!"), the drama with Sam and Jack, and Justin!Sam was a delight to me. I focused on Sam in this drabble, and his failure as 'chief' and how he's struggling with it.
