A Son's Prayer
The flames of the pyre burn hot, an odd but welcoming sensation as they warm Jack's cheeks.
The burning vessel is his Father. Or so he's been told. But the more Jack watches the pyre, and the more he thinks about saying goodbye like Sam told him, the more he knows that his Father doesn't feel dead, just sort of, out of reach. Like if Jack looks harder, deeper, he can reach him, and they can finally be together just like his Mother promised.
Watching the flames, Jack says his own prayer; I'll find you, Father. I promise I will.
A/N: I'm a happy camper - I really enjoyed this episode! I loved that we got some emotion from both brothers, and I loved seeing their differing reactions to Jack, and how they dealt with them too. There was so much pretty; not just the boys, but the lovely scenery and Impala shots. I'm intrigued and want to know more about Jack and this whole nature/nurture debate. I'm ready for more Show!!!! I'd love to hear your thoughts too; on the episode, on the drabble, everything (just no spoilers please). Take care :)
