Summary: 12.14 Drabble. Dean and his Mom.

Imperfect
Dean used to have a Mom who cut the crusts off his sandwiches, made tomato rice soup, and prayed for angels to watch over them.
Now Dean has a Mom, and she's a hunter who tells lies and keeps secrets.
It takes being petrified of losing her for him to realise that somewhere between the two, is the person that Mary's been trying to find. Dean's not a kid, and she's not a perfect memory any more, but an imperfect person who makes her own decisions.
But Dean does have a Mom, and she's standing right in front of him.
A/N: I loved this episode! The family drama was so well written; things said in the heat of anger, and pointed and painful words spoken. It was also wonderful to see a resolution to this in the same episode too, and I thought I'd explore this here. I also enjoyed how we've been seeing Sam play the pacemaker between Mary and Dean, and how this mirrors Dean's experience of being in the middle of Sam and John - I'm not sure if this was done purposefully, but I love it! I'm fascinated with Sam seemingly able to see the bigger picture of a monster free world and how many people they can save, but I'm sure that once he finds out that the BMoL don't see that shade of grey that the boys do, that they'll clash big time. I really want the boys to find out about Magda and the special forces team - whether that will be the catalyst or a case they work together - only time will tell, but I'm excited for more!
