Finish Line
“You think we'll make the finish line?” Sam says, the landscape a blur as the Impala purrs. “No more hunting, just...retirement, a quiet life.”
“There can't always be a Big Bad to gank, or an apocalypse on the horizon, right?” Dean flicks his gaze over his shoulder. “So yeah, why the hell not!”
Sam looks at his brother and their eyes meet; a nod, a smile, a silent promise that neither truly believes, but wants to hold onto.
Dean looks back at the road. “I'm thinking babes, booze and beaches! Sand between our toes, Sammy!”
A/N: I really enjoyed the change of pace with this episode; quiet, understated and subtle. I liked that we saw a little less action and fighting, and a little more thoughtful and poignant moments shared with some wonderful new characters (I adored Jesse and Cesar, and I'd love to see them again, but at the same time I want them to have their happy ending, so maybe not! ;)
