How to break up a works Xmas party--Dislocate your Kneecap
Well i guess the title says it all.
Was the works Christmas party at the bowling alley yesterday. I stood up to take my 4th go and my kneecap shot to the left of my leg and jammed there. You could see the odd angle it was sticking out through my jeans.
For all the moaning about friends in general, it quickly became clear to me that my work friends are the best friends in the world. Between them they quickly notified my parents and the emergancy services and made me comfortable...well as comfortable as you can be on a cold bowling alley floor with a dislocated kneecap. They were fantastic. They both volunteered to come in the ambulance with me but they would only let one, but the thought was there.
Its really weird but i was so calm, i didn't cry in fact i laughed a bit. It hurt like hell though, espiecially when they pulled it back into place. I overdosed on the gas and air though, it made me feel abit sick.
They sent me home with 4 layers of bandage and wool wrap stuff from my ankle to my hip. This made getting into the car, going to loo and getting changed really difficult. I only got about 3 hours of sleep with it, it was sooo uncomfortable. Luckly they cut that off this morning. They said that i have to have physio and wear a knee brace thing to stop it popping out again. I'm also on crutchs.
The most worrying thing now is that i have to put all my weight on my right leg; what if that does the same. It wasn't like i fell all i did was stand on it. Its going to make me really paranoid about it. They don't know why it did it or if it will do it again. I don't particularly wanna go through that twice.
