AN: I wanted to write a story about gay!teenage Jared *flailing* about being gay and I always had this thought that what if Jared and Jensen met before Supernatural started filming, only they just couldn’t talk about it because of the circumstances they met under (:cough: gay club :cough:) -this would be my version of ‘how’.  I mean come on, HOW many mutual friends do those boys have and yet, never met until two years ago? Yes, I can imagine any scenario! Thank you to my lovely betas
riorhapsody   (who can be blamed for pulling me into this fandom. Yes, she's eight kinds of awesome) and
soydolcelatte   who helped tremendously with the flow and direction of this story.

Chapter Four: Fairy Tales Are Stories Told By Homosexuals

Jensen’s house was big. Not oh-my-god-I-can-get-lost-if-I-blink kind of big, but large enough to make Jared stop in his tracks, eyes open wide in surprise as he surveyed the place in awe.

“Okay, so what the fuck do your parents do?” Dinah asked looking around the living room, shoes already kicked off. For such a large open space, it was poorly decorated, only a medium sized television set, a green floral couch with a matching love seat and a coffee table with old magazines sitting atop filled the room, and nothing else. There weren’t any paintings or photographs of Jensen’s family framed in glass with shiny metal borders hanging up on the walls, which Jared found to be kind of odd considering that he assumed this place to be Jensen’s home, yet it didn’t feel very homey at all.

“My dad’s in…entertainment.” Jensen smiled dropping his keys down onto the table.

“Oh, like porn?” Dinah asked with a mischievous grin.

“No, not porn,” Jensen laughed, “I don’t think you can make porn in Texas.”

“They throw you in jail here just for anal sex.” Jared mumbled without thinking. It took him a full two seconds before he cringed -physically cringed, squeezing his eyes shut, as he turned red. “Tell me I didn’t just say that.”

“You totally just said that,” Dinah giggled. “Where is your mind at?”

“No, I didn’t mean…I didn’t,” Jared stammered turning towards Jensen. “I didn’t mean like I wanted to -you know, like you and…and me were gonna…” He trailed off hoping to preserve the last remnants of any sense of something that wasn’t entirely made up of awkward and spastic and pure, utter mortification that made him want to die. To die!

“So, era um…you guys want some soda or something?” A flushed face Jensen asked changing the subject to spare Jared anymore embarrassment.

“Water. Please.” Jared choked, groaning inwardly.

Dinah waited until Jensen disappeared into the kitchen before she stood on the tips of her toes and whispered in Jared’s ear. “You do know that you are the king of all spazs,” she laughed, “Dude, you‘re like so spastastic right now that it hurts just being next to you. Seriously. My body aches. I think I‘m having a muscle spasm.”

“Oh my god! Did that really just happen? That wasn’t like -I don’t know…something I imagined?” He hissed face tomato soup red.

“If it makes you feel any better, he looked embarrassed for you.”

“Okay, you’re SO not helping me feel better here!”

“I hope tap water is okay. I’m out of bottled.” Jensen announced walking back into the room with a cup of ice water.

Jared thankfully took a sip. He didn’t anticipate how cold the water was and as soon as he brought the glass to his mouth he was pulling it away, hissing and rubbing his forefingers across his slightly forked teeth. If it were possible for the shade of scarlet that flushed his body to deepen any more than it would have at the very moment.

“Sorry…my teeth….” He mumbled looking down at his feet.

“He has sensitive teeth,” Dinah chimed in patting Jared reassuringly on the back. “So Jensen, your dad does porn, what exactly is it that you do again? I mean, no offense here, but this place looks kind of -how do I say this delicately- fucking empty.”

“I know, it’s because I’m in the middle of moving all my stuff out to California.”

“I thought you came home, you know, like back here a lot?” Jared asked curiously.

“I mean I do whenever I get the chance, but I never really use this place anymore when I do. I usually sleep up at the big house and all my stuff was just sitting around here so I shipped most of it up to my new apartment.”

“Oh,” Jared replied nodding his head as if he understood. “So you’re gonna be out here for the rest of the summer, right? Cuz I thought you said that before…” He trailed off feeling as if once again he was talking too much, each word stumbling over the next.

“Yup,” Jensen smiled, “I don’t have to be back to work until the first week of September.”

“Cool.” Jared grinned shyly looking up from his sneakers and meeting Jensen’s gaze.

“So what exactly do you do again? You didn’t answer my question.” Dinah asked eyeing him curiously if not downright skeptically.

“I work with…um…kids -hey, I don’t know about you guys, but I’m beat! Let me show you where you’ll be sleeping.”

He took them into the guest bedroom. Unlike the rest of the house, this room felt kind of homey. The bed was made up neatly, pictures of people which Jared assumed to be Jensen’s family were hung up on the walls and sitting on top of the nightstands. It even had a home-like smell to it, like fresh laundry and potpourri air-freshener.

“Is that you?” Dinah shrieked pointing to a picture on the wall of a little boy who couldn’t have been more than eleven holding a little girl’s hand.

“Oh god, please don’t look at these,” Jensen sighed jumping in front of Dinah, blocking her view. “It was my mama’s idea to hang these pics up.”

“Move it pretty,” she laughed playfully poking him in the side until he moved. “You looked so cute! Jared, look!”

Jared looked at the photo Dinah pointed to and laughed taking note of how big Jensen’s mouth and eyes were. “You look so goofy!” He laughed.

“Thanks, seriously, my esteem thanks you.” Jensen smiled rolling his eyes.

“I don’t mean it like that! You were a cute goofy. Why are your eyes so big?” Jared giggled.

“And that’s my queue to leave. My bedroom is right across the hall so if you guys want or need anything just knock on the door,” Jensen grinned at Jared brushing past him with an impish grin. “There isn’t too much food in the fridge, but whatever’s there, feel free to take.”

“Cool.” Jared smiled

“Night.” Jensen nodded and before Jared knew what was happening, Jensen’s lips were pressing against his -no tongue, just the soft touch of their mouths pressing together almost innocently. Jensen pulled away grinning. “Maybe before you guys head back to San Antonio, we could like grab breakfast at IHOP or something.”

“Yeah…sounds good.”

“Cool…wake ya’ll up around ten.” And with that Jensen left, closing the door softly behind him.

“Stop that.” Dinah sighed flopping down to the bed.

“Stop what?” Jared asked innocently.

“Standing there with that dumb look in your eyes. You’re so gaga over that boy already that it’s kind of making me sick -oh damn!”

“What?” Jared asked laying beside her.

“We forgot to pick up our shit at the motel! Now we gotta sleep in these dirty clothes -yuck, I smell like cotton candy and funnel cake!”

“See, that’s why being a boy has its perks. I can take off my shirt and sleep in my boxers - you’re the one that has to sleep in your jeans.”

“Fuck that, if you’re sleeping in your underoos, then I am too!”

“No way!”

“Why?”

“Cuz that’s weird!”

Dinah took a moment to think of what Jared said and then grunted, turning her back to him. “Fuck, you’re right. I hate it when you’re right.”

“I’m always right.” Jared laughed tossing his shirt to the floor.

“Why couldn’t you be a girl-cousin?”

“Because I‘m not.”

“Shut up!”

“Good night darling.”

“Asshat…”

* * *

This wasn’t his bed. It was a comfortable bed, but still, it wasn’t his bed, which meant that it was impossible to fall asleep in. Dinah had been able to fall asleep rather quickly though. The girl could fall asleep on a pile of bricks if needed. She snored. God, the girl snored hard and deep like a crazed beast and she slept wild too. Good lord she slept wild. Her leg practically knocked him off the bed and when her right arm came dangerously close to knocking him clear in the jewels, Jared gave up trying to sleep. He got up and headed towards the kitchen for a glass of milk. Yes, he was very much aware of the fact that if Dinah ever found out that he drank milk to help fall asleep, he would never be able to hear the end of it, but since she was dead to the world at the moment, what she thought of him didn’t really matter.

Jensen wasn't exaggerating when he said that he didn’t have too much of anything in his fridge, the damn thing was practically empty except for a gallon of milk, a box of baking soda and what looked like a plate of old mashed potatoes.

“Hey.” Jensen stated surprising Jared as he poured his glass.

“Hey. I hope you don’t mind,” Jared started sheepishly staring awkwardly at the totally hot and totally shirtless guy in front of him. “I just wanted some milk.”

“Milk help you sleep or something?” Jensen asked scratching at his chest with a grin. His nipples were a tender shade of pink, looked soft to touch and his skin was tanned and freckled. He had neat, well-carved muscles everywhere, from the vaulted, slender shoulders to the tapered, taut waist. Jared had to force himself not to stare.

“Yeah -I know, geeky.”

“Yeah, geeky. That’s what I came in here for too.” Jensen smiled. “Pour me a glass.”

“Ice?” Jared grinned.

“Ewe, no. Who drinks milk with ice?”

“You pass.” Jared laughed easily chuckling from within some quiet place.

“Pass what?” Jensen asked taking a step towards him, his lips curved with amusement.

“You’re gonna think it’s stupid and laugh if I tell you.” Jared blushed closing the fridge.

“No I won’t.”

“Yes you will. And I think I’ve embarrassed myself enough tonight.”

“Dude, you’ve seen my kid pictures on the first date -now, that’s embarrassing!”

“Date? We had a date?” Jared smiled and now it was Jensen’s turn to blush and look away. “Okay, if I tell you, you gotta promise not to laugh. Promise?”

“No, but tell me anyway.” Jensen smiled and it was that smirk that made Jared sigh in resign.

“Okay -it’s so stupid; I don’t know why I’m telling you this. Okay. Sometimes I do this thing where I ask myself a question in my head and I think that if the answer I want, like, happens then whatever I want to happen, will happen.”

“Dude, you totally just confused me.”

“I know, sometimes I confuse myself,” Jared sighed tugging his t-shirt down. “Like in my head, I said to myself that if you wanted ice in your milk, you wouldn’t kiss me, but if you didn’t, you would. Or like sometimes I’ll be in the grocery store and I say to myself ‘If I see a lady in a yellow dress before I leave out, then I’m gonna have a good day' and if I do, I always have one -I can’t believe I’m telling you this.”

“Really? That’s kind of cute -weird, odd...but cute.” Jensen grinned hooking his thumb into the waistband of Jared’s black shorts.

“Shut up.” Jared smiled, his throat feeling dry and tight, his heart slamming against his chest, the fresh mingling scent of Jensen’s soap and shampoo breathing around him in a cocktail of peach and minted freshness.

“But there’s a flaw in your thought process. What if I don’t kiss you?”

“Then that’ll totally screw up my logic.”

“So I guess I should kiss you then?” Jensen asked, his thumb gliding across a smooth strip of skin right above Jared’s hipbone.

“I mean…yeah…you know, for the sake of my logic and all.”

Jared leaned in, the milky coolness from Jensen’s breath ghosting across his lips as their mouths melded together like silver dimes and red-gold pennies in a mason jar.

There was something warily hesitant about Jensen’s kiss, his tongue timidly meeting Jared’s flickering inside of his neat and pretty mouth only for a moment before he was grunting and breaking away.

“Fuck.” Jensen whispered, closing his eyes, his thumb pressing into the smooth skin of Jared’s hip.

“What’s wrong?”

“I like you,” Jensen sighed, his voice gruff and distant. Jared’s pulse raced and he held his breath waiting for him to continue. “I really do.”

“I like you too.” Jared replied honestly immediately wishing that he could take the words back. Now that they were out, he was scared. This was his first time he was admitting to someone other than Dinah that he liked a guy and not just any guy, but someone he thought of as incredible and he was admitting that to that very person.

“But I…I gotta tell you something. I mean, I really like you and I know it’s kind of weird because I just met you and -god, I sound like a John Hughes movie.” Jensen laughed nervously breathing in the salted-sweet aroma of Jared’s sweat and holding that scent inside as if he’d never be able to smell it again.

“I like John Hughes.”

“See, this is why you’re awesome.” Jensen took a deep breath and continued, his fingers digging into Jared’s sides almost painfully, like he had to brace himself for whatever it was that he was about to say. “Back in L.A. I’m kind of…I’m kind of… seeing someone.”

And Jared’s heart cracked just a little.

“It’s kind of serious.”

And Jared’s breathing stopped just a little.

“We are…Austin and I….he’s kind of…he’s like my boyfriend.”

“You have a boyfriend…”

And Jared could feel his heart sink down into his stomach, just a little.

“Yeah, but….things aren’t really good, you know? He doesn’t get me. He doesn’t like what I like and things are just kind of not so good.” Jensen was talking so fast that Jared could only understand every third word.

“So you were just like what? Playing around with me or something?” Jared asked taking a step back. He wasn’t angry or hurt -much, he felt more foolish than anything. Here he was building Jensen up to this amazing guy, conjuring up a thousand different happy ending scenarios, allowing himself to indulge in childish fantasies about someone who was still a virtual stranger.

“No! It wasn’t like that, I swear and I know I’m a jerk -hey, I’m a jerk, but if you just let me talk to you…” Jensen tried to explain himself, reached out and grabbed Jared’s arm.

“You know, I’m so fucking stupid. I don’t even know you and here I was thinking you were this awesome guy who was funny and smart and stupid, stupid, stupid me, I thought we had something.” Jared replied. He ignored the small thrill that ran through him as he felt Jensen’s fingers digging into his forearm.

“We do! I feel it too! That’s why I’m being honest with you!”

“Honest,” Jared laughed dryly. “Yeah…thanks, I really appreciate that.”

“Just…I don’t even know what the fuck I’m supposed to say.”

“That makes two of us.” Jared sighed pulling his arm out of Jensen’s grasp. “I can’t believe how stupid I -you know what, I’m just gonna go to bed.” Jared continued brushing past him. He got about six steps before Jensen was trailing behind him, grabbing his arm again.

“Don’t be mad. I know, I suck, but don’t be mad, okay?”

“Keep your voice down, Dinah’s sleeping.” Jared grunted silently praying that she would wake up and investigate. Surely, she would rip Jensen the new one Jared thought he deserved.

“Come here.” Jensen whispered pulling Jared into his bedroom. A deep blue dust sheathed wall to ceiling, a canvas so dark you couldn’t even see your hand in front of your face, but it smelled nice, like fresh laundry and winter sunlight.

“I’m officially stupid. Forget about the scholarships and the 3.6 G.P.A., I’m fucking stupid! I mean I don’t even know you and…I’m just stupid.” Something about the darkness made Jared feel more comfortable with expressing himself.

“Don’t. I’m an ass and I shouldn’t have kissed you without telling you about Austin, but I saw you at Juniors and thought you were cute -you were all shy and scared running out of the door,” Jensen smiled, “and I didn’t think I’d ever see you again so I didn’t think anything of it, but then I did, you know? And I thought it was like some kind of sign or something because what are the odds of me seeing you in San Antonio one day and here in Dallas the next -and today…today was amazing! I felt like I was normal again and I never get to feel that way and you…you’re just so…you’re so funny and sweet and clumsy and cute and I really like you.” Jensen replied, his hand still gripping Jared’s arm. His thumb began caressing his forearm, each stroke sending something electric charging up Jared’s spine.

“Yeah, you really like me huh?” Jared asked sarcastically. “That’s why you just forgot to tell me you had a boyfriend when I was shoving my tongue down your throat, right?”

“I know, I suck, okay? I get that, but Austin is just so different from you, ya know? He doesn’t laugh and he doesn’t like to ride roller coasters and I guess I just forgot for a while that I had a boyfriend. I just….” Jensen took a breath and smiled to himself as he continued. “I couldn’t help myself. Your mouth is just so…you are just so…I just like how you see everything. I know I don’t know you, but I want to and I don’t know what’s gonna happen. I go back to L.A. next month and I’ll be lucky if I can get back down here before Christmas, but I like you okay? I can’t pretend that I don’t feel something here -it’s weird dude, like fucking weird, but I do. I mean, you just said you feel it too. It doesn’t matter that we haven’t known each other for that long or that I don’t even know your middle name -hell, I don’t even know your last name.”

“Padalecki. My last name is Padalecki and my middle name is Tristan.” Jared exhaled.

Jensen inhaled; their breaths intertwining becoming one steady unit of breathing that made Jared swallow down something thick and hard, a knot twisting inside of his chest coiling through the fibers of muscle and bone.

“Ackles. Jensen Ross Ackles.” Jensen whispered feeling Jared’s nose brushing against his. That was all it took to break the moment, the brief contact of skin-to-skin creating a need inside of them, and the desire for something more that Jared couldn’t push away. He was seventeen and horny with a half naked young man standing in front of him.

Their lips met, this time hard and aggressive with Jensen panting as he snaked his hand past the elastic of Jared’s shorts, cupping his backside kneading the tips of his fingers into the supple, pale flesh, grinding their hips together eager just to touch him.

They didn’t make it to the bed. That seemed too far away and since Jared couldn’t even see two inches in front of his face, he improvised and slammed Jensen up against the bedroom door. His cock rock hard pressing against Jensen’s erection.

“I like you too,” Jared whispered running his fingers through Jensen’s soft honey kissed hair, his fingers slowly gliding across the fine and delicate strands along the nape of his neck. “I like kissing you,” he continued parting his lips sliding his body against Jensen’s, the slick skin of Jensen’s chest soaking against his t-shirt. “I like when you kiss me.”

Jensen pushed him away to take Jared’s t-shirt off, his hands sliding down Jared’s sides feeling every exposed peak of sharp bone that pressed through pale white flesh.

“Condoms,” Jensen panted, “let me get the condoms.” With lightening quick speed, he was jumping up and maneuvering his way through the darkness. Jared took a step after him stumbling and tripping over one of his feet, his stomach tight with anxiety and yet, excitement too. Condoms? That meant sex. Sex? Sex of what kind? That very thought rattled him the core.

As he stood, Jensen was back at his side and pushing him down to the bed, the soft cotton sheets gracefully welcoming Jared's back.

Jensen started off slow, just one kiss to Jared’s neck, one hand sliding down his side as he rested on his knees, settling himself between the open V that Jared’s spread legs had created. When Jared felt Jensen’s fingers prying his boxers down fear kicked in.

“What are you doing?” He huffed stopping him.

“I thought that we… I mean, if you don’t want to-”

“I DO! I just…” Jared trailed off, thankful that the darkness hid his blushing face. “I want to know exactly what we’re gonna do first is all.”

“Wait, is this your first time?” Jensen asked inquisitively, a hint of amusement and surprise to his tone.

“NO! I mean, I’ve had sex before…just with girls.”

“Been there,” Jensen replied with a soft chuckle. “Never with a guy? Not even once?”

“Yeah once, but it wasn’t like sex. It was…other stuff,” Jared replied uncomfortably. “I just don’t want to, like…be the one getting…”

“Getting what -oh, OH!” Jensen laughed. “Jesus, I’m doing it again.” He mumbled sitting up on his knees.

“Doing what?”

“Listen….I really want to do this -believe me, I do.” Jared could hear Jensen scratching his head in search of thought. “But maybe we should stop.”

“Why? Am I doing something wrong, just tell me and I’ll fix it.” Jared whispered sitting up on his elbows straining his neck to kiss him. He was thinking with his dick and not his head.

“No, no! Trust me, you’re doing everything right. It’s just…just….god this is kind of hard to say so I’m just gonna say it. I’ve made some mistakes in my past. I’ve done a lot of things with a lot of people and some I’m not so proud of, but I’m older now, more cautious and I think we should take things slow. I wanna get to know you.”

“Oh god,” Jared laughed flopping back down to the bed. “What am I doing? I’m usually the careful one and here I was ready to sleep with someone I don’t even know -someone with a boyfriend no less!”

“Hey, look at me. Come on, look at me.” Jensen nudged, moving up the bed, slinging one arm across Jared‘s chest as he laid beside him. “I want to get to know you. You.”

“You have a boyfriend. A boyfriend Jensen. You don‘t see how wrong this would be?”

“I’m breaking up with him. I mean, not because of you, but Austin and I…it’s just not working -hasn’t been for a while. He doesn’t matter right now. You do.”

“Oh god…this is a bad idea.” Jared groaned closing his eyes, turning on his side towards Jensen. “I have a feeling you’re about to get me into trouble.”

“No more secrets. Let’s get to know each other, from here on out, pure honesty.”

“Man…I’m gonna go against my better judgment here. Don’t make me regret it.”

Jared was thankful for the darkness that the room provided because when Jensen kissed him again, he couldn’t see the uncertainty and apprehension in his eyes.
