There's always just that one thing that ruins everything. That tiny, almost insignificant detail that normally wouldn't bother you, but because everything else is fine, it spoils the lot.
I have the subject for my research project/thesis sorted out and approved and even underway. I'm looking at the emotional attachment between player and character and how this is affected by the amount of control the player has over the character (appearance, class, gender, name) and this is my own subject not a pre-approved one so I'm giving myself points for creativity.
I'm also very much enjoying my AI class. It's only week two and already we're into the 'can the mind be represented as a machine?' debate and all that follows. (My answer; no, the brain may be replicated by a computer, but the mind is something else completely)
The only thing that's bothering me is that the band I wanted to book for my birthday (trivial matter, so it upsets me more that I'm upset in the first place) was booked for the day i wanted to book them for the day before my friend gave me the number for them (which is just annoyance in it's purest form. If you personified sod's law, that'd be it; trivial, yet so highly irritating!)
edit: just realised this is essentialy the exact opposite of my last post. Fate, huh? Just proves it's those darned little things that count
