I've decided to write drabbles, ones that just pop into my brain. I'll edit them in, because I'm so impatient that I can't wait until I have written a few.
There was only one subject that Maddox felt qualified enough to tutor others in. Therefore, when Sam complained about not understanding a Potions assignment, he insisted on helping her out. Their tutoring sessions mainly consisted of Maddox explaining a potion to her in an excited and animated way, often going too quickly for her to follow. Instead of asking him to slow down, Sam simply sat back and watched him prattle on as if Potions was the most fascinating thing in the world.
When Maddox asked her how her grade was, Sam smiled to herself as she told him that she’d done well. The expression on his face was one of pure joy as he hugged her and proceeded to talk about the final. When he asked her if she would still like help with the subject, she said yes. They met regularly that year and though Sam still didn’t really follow what he was saying most of the time, she treasured the time that she got to spend with her friend. She finally told him years later, and all he did was smile. He’d suspected it all along, but kept it up because he enjoyed spending time with her.
