Not me, of course.
Wow. What an awesome weekend! I had so much fun, a total blast. So much to talk about, where to begin....
My weekend really started Wednesday afternoon. My dad and I drove over to Sunnyvale to drop me off @ Cara and Richard's place. They had offered to have me ride down to SB for John and Hilary's wedding. Now mind you, I had just gotten home that previous Saturday and had no outfit whatsoever for the wedding. Most of Tuesday and half of Wednesday were spent looking and shopping for an outfit. I still can't believe we pulled it off. Anyway, we got home and I frantically packed everything I needed in a bag and then wond up waiting around to leave. Hurry and wait. I hate that. It was a dirty trick. Mrrh. Dad gets home, we pack the Echo and my dad and I head out. I drove; it was an uneventful, easy drive for the most part, with the exception of all the commuter asses out there. I get to Cara's, see Dad off, and take my first 'breather' since I'd been home. Not even home a week, and I was already welcoming a vacation from vacation. Granted, this summer is a mite different regarding accomodating my grandmother, which equals stress levels up the wazoo for my mom. But I'm not going there. We chat, eat dinner, then Cara and I worked on the big chin cage (chinchillas). Entertaining conversation over that, I must say. Could you really blame us though? Hammer, nails, sheet metal, wood...Our pun and ennuendo-filled chat was laid out for us. *smiles innocently* Since we were going to get an early start, we crashed around 11pm.
4:30am Friday morning the three of us, 4 if you could the pup, were up, got dressed and loaded the truck. We made awesome time. With no traffic and decent speed (nothing over 75mph), we left around 5am, and we arrived in SB around 10am. It felt so awesome to be back home...my second home. So familiar, so jam-packed w/ fresh memories. We dropped Cara off on campus @ the Student Health center, and Richard and I headed over to Bryce and Arthur's place. Arthur was out and about when we arrived, but Bryce greeted us in the driveway. Richard had some business to take care of back on campus, so he left. I was tired, and bizzarely enough, a bit shy around my SO which ticked me off. Bryce was going to take the pup for a walk, since Murphy had been couped up in the cab for the ride down. I said I'd like to go, but I was tired and wanted to take a nap. He shooed me off to get some sleep and left w/ Murphy. I shuffled into his room, climbed the ladder and gladly flopped onto his bed for some welcome rest. Woke up about 3hrs later; climbed down and encountered Bryce washing dishes and Arthur in his room working on a project. Watched Back to the Future on Arthur's projector in his room while he did some work. After the movie, Bryce and I took Murphy over to the IV Frisbee Golf course where we met up w/ Asa and Randi. We stopped around 5:30 and headed for the drug store cause I needed contact solution. Got back to the house, and shortly after Arthur, Ricahrd and Cara arrived w/ food for dinner. Justin and John met them in the driveway and joined us for dinner. Arthur BBQed steaks for us, and did nothing less than an awesome job. They departed, and Cara, Bryce and I got out stuff to make piecrust cookies. More entertaining stories involving balls.
Friday morning, I went w/ Cara onto campus, cause I had some stuff to deal w/ @ Student Health and she had some lab work to do. Called Maggles in the meantime, and met her over @ the UCen. We wandered the bookstore catching up on things. We landed in the (lobby?) seating area outside the store and chatted some more. Hit up Nicoletti's for blended chais and eventually met up w/ Cara. As Maggie said, we went shopping - me for a purse for my outfit, Cara for a slip for her dress. We hit Sears, and had no luck; we did have fun in the lingerie area w/ some amusing articles of clothing that could scare boys. I bailed on the purse idea; none met my approval, and not knowing where another Robinson May store was, decided against getting one, since I'd probably return it. Cara found a slip, and by that time, the 3 of us had had our fill of girly shopping for one day. ..Oh yeah, I got some earrings in Claire's too. While we were doing this, we had sent the boys - Ryan and Bryce - wedding gift shopping. Thankfully, they were successful too. Maggie came back w/ us to B&A's place and met the guys....well, more like she met Arthur and Richard. Ryan and Bryce weren't back yet. They get back; Ryan suggests In N Out Burger for dinner. We congregate there, where I provide quite a bit of entertainment for everyone. We get back and frustration and drama ensue regarding a bachelor party for John. Justin (the best man) didn't plan one. The other guys try to plan something last minute, and Justin acts like a total *insert any and/or all explicit names*. Ryan gets a call around 8:30pm and is told that the rehersal dinner is over and John's tired and wants to sleep. BULL. Negotiations follow, allong with heated debating. Bryce and I go on a mini excursion for a plunget cause the sole bathroom in the place backed up. Not good when seven people are occupying the place. Ryan gets another call from Justin. He wouldn't tell the guys where he and John were staying. ((O O)) >_< By this point, everyone is so disgusted with Justin, we want his hide for this. Cara, Lindsay and I get recruited to help find out where they could be. Lindz calls Hilary and asks where the guys were staying; Justin then gets on the phone and says that now that Hilary knows, the element of surprise is gone, and now Hilary probably won't let John go anywhere. The guys just want to take him to Coldstone! The real clincher? Hilary, the night before, Thursday night, had a BACHELORETTE PARTY! Don't get me started. The four of us girls put a dance CD together while the guys were out. They got back, Richard and I took Maggles back to her hotel, and headed back. Everyone crashed for the night shortly after.
The wedding was awesome! It was so much fun! It was great seeing almost everyone one last time before people went their separate ways. John broke down and shed some tears while saying his vows; I got choked up and was close to tears myself. The guys all looked SO GOOD all cleaned up and dressed nice. The reception was fun; our big group ended up getting split into two tables. I sat w/ Cara and Richard, Arthur and Lindsay, Ryan, Bryce, both Steves and Chad. Justin did a very entertaining toast for John. The dancing was fun but disappointing in the fact that the DJ wrote Cara and I off when we made song requests. We wanted salsa, swing and tango. The DJ felt otherwise. Mrrh. In the process of teaching one of the Steves how to swing, I had my defining moment, a classic Whitney stunt. Steve spun me out, spun me back in and I lost my footing and wiped out, landing flat on my butt. He's convinced he tripped me; it happened so fast I honestly don't know. I was mortified. I buried my face in my arms/hands, and sat there for a few seconds, trying to hide. The boys thought I was hurt, that I'd hit my head or something. I retreated to the entryway, followed by Steve and Bryce, still checking to see if I was alright. I was laughing hysterically. I went back out a few minutes later where Cara and I got Asa out on the floor. He 'two-timed' us around, one of us on each hand. It was awesome; he pulled it off quite well. The last dance arrived, with no authentic salsa, tango or swing to be had. We saw Jonh and Hilary off, and headed home. Lindsay, Cara and I immediately ditched our shoes, and changed into more comfy clothes. Minutes later, the group, minus Bryce, who wanted to take a nap, went and saw Batman Begins. WOW! Awesome, totally amazing movie! I loved it! Split a pizza with Richard and Cara @ Gina's Pizza, ate w/ the rest of the group, then went home. Everyone crashed earlier than usual.
This morning Richard, Cara, Bryce and I woke up around 6:30am. Bryce saw us off and we drove back to Sunnyvale. Dad picked me up about an hour later, said bye to Cara and Richard, and headed home.
And that, my friends, was my weekend. Now I'm going to go crash. Bfn!
