Passive Agressive
I don't like it when my mom's passive aggressive.
Like when my doctor asked me if I'm interested in stage managing as a career, and she's like "Well, I don't think it's at the top of her list."
HOW DOES SHE KNOW?
I mean yeah, I haven't mentioned it before, but recently, it's been a slightly more prominent thought.
I just wish she'd let me answer for myself instead of imposing her view.
And I'd like it if people stopped asking me why I don't act anymore.
There are a number of reasons, the primary one being I LIKE STAGE MANAGING BETTER.
So please world, stop asking. It's not a step down. It's not because I've lost all confidence in myself as an actor. I'm sorry that just doesn't fit into the hyper-competitive South Stage mold. Many apologies, really.
I also wish I were braver in confronting the menfolk.
Now THERE'S an area of my life where I have little to no confidence.
