A/N: Yesterday I had a super creative day within this fic table, it actually made me happy to get some fics done.
They arrived at Bobby’s tired, worn and just in need of rest. It’s mid-day, but the three looked as though they had been up for days. Between Sam and Madison’s mid-morning sex in the diner bathroom and Dean hardly sleeping, they felt like they hadn’t slept for days. Bleary eyed and fighting the need for sleep, they made their way through introductions and Bobby let them in without a fight. Sam knew it would come later.
Sam and Madison curled up in one room, shoes haphazardly discarded with their bags and some extra layers of clothing. Her head on his chest, wearing only his button down and her panties while he wore a t-short and boxers, they slept. Peacefully and comfortingly, it would be another two weeks before they had to worry about the full moon again. Until then, things would remain peaceful…good.
Sleep was fairly dreamless and when Madison awoke it felt like no time had passed, but it was starting to get dark. The smell of food cooking roused her further from sleep and the brunette started to get up, only to feel Sam’s arm around her waist, pulling her back down to him. She laughed breathlessly and tried to get up again, only to freeze at the sound of heavy footsteps. Dean.
‘So that’s the werewolf,’ she heard Bobby’s voice state.
‘Yeah, that’s her.’ Dean’s voice had a note of disgust, maybe loathing.
‘Cute kid, it’s a real shame. What do you plan to do about her?’
A sigh, ‘Sammy likes her…he wants to save her. I wish he didn’t.’
Dean wanted her dead, it was obvious and her stomach churned. It was obvious that both of them expected that both of them were still asleep from the openness of the conversation. Her thoughts stopped short.
‘Want me to take care of it?’
Madison trembled and couldn’t even think to hear Dean’s reply. He had dragged her all this way to kill her? What about Sam, did he know? Her mind whirled and her body trembled. She was so out of it, dizzy from everything that she hardly noticed Sam move.
‘Maddie? What’s wrong?’ Sam’s voice cut into her thoughts.
Shaking her head, she explained what she had heard. It made her wish that he had killed her when she had asked. At least then it would have been a mercy killing and something she had asked instead of a bullet from a stranger. If anything, this scared her. She would have accepted death if Sam had delivered it, but now…with her hope built up that she’d live a fairly normal life? She couldn’t accept death.
She didn’t want to die. Not now.
Sam pulled her into his arms and held her tight against his chest. His lips against the top of her head, a hand in her hair. Madison felt like a child, being coddled after a terrifying dream. It’s sad, it’s pathetic, but he never calls her out on it, he just rocks her and reassures her that no one was going to hurt her.
‘It’s more than them you need to save from,’ she said softly, muffled by his chest. Sam’s ears never pick it up.
