So, my day started as it usually does, with top stock, which we get to do 2 hours a day if we're lucky. I got to the international aisle, and it had been done. By my coach. But she didn't actually work the stuff down, she just scanned the location labels. I actually redid it and did the work. I didn't even finish by 9, because there were so many things up there, behind and on top of other stuff, and nearly everything I tried to stock was in the wrong place.
So, we did our usual stuff, vizpicking and stocking the picks.
Went to lunch, came back and our coach, Helena, who had arrived at 12 to fuck up our day, called everyone to the back because it wasn't set up for the truck. I started placing pallets and Paul saw me and asked what I was doing. I told him, he said uh uh and went and got more guys to set up, and told me to go back to stocking picks and if Helena said anything, to say he told me to. Paul will always be my favorite coach.
I went back to stocking, then around 2, Helena paged us all again. This time it was to tell us we suck at top stock. She didn't put it just that way. She said something like we only did one aisle each today on top stock, when she did like 25 yesterday.
Now, admittedly, if we only scanned labels and didn't do the actual work, we could be farther along. Also, we have an average of 4 or 5 people per day, and at the very least, 2 of them have to stay in the backroom to move pallets around all day so we have somewhere to put remix and set up for the truck. Today, one of us couldn't find a top stock cart to use. But, say we do it her way and only scan labels. That means the stuff that needs to be on the shelf stays on top stock, gets nil-picked by OGP, or not bought by customers in any case. I filled many outs today from the top stock Helena "worked."
She also told us other stuff... frozen remodel is starting, all the items from the mod will be placed in the freezer for OGP to pick, and can you imagine the bitching the customers are going to do? Then dairy starts in a week. And we're not getting the new team member we desperately need until after the remodel.
This all doesn't especially make me mad, it just amazes me that Walmart can find the absolute worst people to be management. The fact that it didn't make especially mad is even more amazing considering I have two broken toes and every step is agony.
work sucks right now
