Happy Birthday, dear! I clicked on this entry to see what Brad came up with for you. Very nice! It's certainly beyond my technological capabilities. I should write you a story one of these days for being such a great lj friend and reviewer. Let me know what pairing and what kind of story you'd like to read and I'll give it a shot. If you (and Rachel) thought that I'd *created* those images from scratch ... oh dear. No, that's beyond my capabilities too. I just did a google search for (free, public) 'animated birthday gif' images, grabbed a couple, and embedded them in my post. That's all. Very low-tech, I'm afraid.
I've made very few posts on LJ, and never anything with an embedded picture, hence my stating that this was my 'first ever multi-media post'.

When you first popped on here I thought of saying something like "please feel at liberty to mention ... uhm ... *that couple*", seeing as how I sometimes go against the grain chez St. Margarets (and you've always been a sport about it). But I chickened out, just in case our senses of humour didn't mesh (a H/G fan/friend went feral on me a few months ago over an innocuous comment about Ginny that I made, which had me second-guessing myself here).
Only to have you wave cheekily at me now, using my blog to ... *gah* ... traffic in H/G fanfics!!!
Well, I can't very well object, given as how it's Rachel's birthday present! And I like your fanfics too, anyway, so we both win.
*pretends not to notice the shady H/G fanfic deal*
*considers imposing tarrifs in the future to encourage H/Hr stories*
