Birthday Thanks!
A few notes on my birthday:
Thank you. Thank you thank you thank you. I can't remember the last time I felt so pampered.
On my actual birthday, Bob, Mom and I went shopping at the mall to pick out new bedding (my gift from her is redoing my bedroom.. I just need to find a painter who will give me a quote). It's a silvery gray and will go very nice with the blues we're going to paint the room, I think . Very wintery. I'm excited. Pictures upon project completion. ;D
Then we went home to grab the Wii Rock Band stuff to take to my brother's for dinner. When we walked in, we found this:
Jennifer and her boyfriend, Matt, ninja'd their way into the house while we were out shopping to put up streamers, balloons, and post signs around the room wishing me a happy birthday and whatnot. It was very, very sweet.
When we went over to Robert's, I walked in and immediately noticed a cage sitting in Robert's living room. "JR.. your mom let you get a turtle?" "No, Aunt Katie.. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"
So, while spending the night eating yummy Juan Pollo, spice cake, and playing on the Wii and in the pool, we all brainstormed names for the little guy. I really love how both Jennifer and I came up with Aziraphale right off the bat.. but he's not an Aziraphale. He's a Puck. And was named thusly so.
My parents also surprised me with a Wii Fit.. which I LOVE. Apparently my father harassed a Fry's Electronics for three weeks trying to get one.. and succeeded just a few days before my birthday. Beam!
On Sunday I visited Kensington Video and in talking to a new girl there, realized it's been ten years since I worked there. TEN. Man. Then, I met up with Kim and she took me to Cafe Cleo and we went and saw Wall-E together. I love Wall-E.
Between all that, and the fuss my coworkers made over me on the 15th (and the flowers at my work!), I had a lovely lovely weekend. Today I'll finally take the birthday gifts off the mantle.. but it was sure nice while it lasted. :)
