Two things about the Olympics:

1. Stupid broadcasting getting you down? Voilà, live streaming of everything. (This is probably a European thing, though. Also, I'm having to use IE tabs to make it work. Still. I CAN NOW GET ALL THE FIGURE SKATING. ALL OF IT. IfI can stay awake for it, that is.)
2. HOLY GOD LOOK AT THESE FIGURE SKATING STATS, GUYS. *____* I literally do not need the commentators for anything after this.

Things that I did this weekend that had nothing to do with the Olympics:

1. Went to see Sherlock Holmes. It was OK.
2. Attended a Chinese New Year's festival, ate spring rolls in -15°C weather.
3. Had a lot of people over for pea soup and shrove buns.

My head's been aching since yesterday morning. (I'm sure this has NOTHING AT ALL to do with getting up at weird hours to watch sports.)

To console myself, I made a three cheese, three onion mushroom pasta just for me and ate way too much of it so now I am also feeling sort of blerghy. GOOD TIMES. (Recipe: soak a handful of dried porcini in hot water, squeeze dry (reserving the liquid) and chop. Finely chop ½ red onion, two shallots, and two cloves garlic, sautée in a scant tbsp of butter. Add chopped porcini, a splosh of cream and the mushroom soaking liquid, simmer for a few minutes. Crumble or grate about an ounce and a half each of blue cheese, parmesan and port salut cheese and stir into the sauce until melted. Add a bit of chopped sage, a few tbsp of chopped walnuts, and pepper to taste. Mix with cooked pasta and serve.)

ETA: random fact about The Finland of the day: Valentine's is called Friends' Day in Finnish. Take that, commercialized gross romanticism.
