This is a post of food picspam

Hi. Remember when I used to post food pictures? Those were the days.

This is basically everything I've photographed since September or so, food-wise. Except for a mushroom salad that I've mislaid both photos and recipe for. (What the hell, self? It was a good salad, too.)

Potato & Broccoli Salad. Also contains bacon, onion, and dijon-flavored mayo, so naturally it was the best potato salad ever. (No, I kind of mean it. It's a lot fresher than your average potato salad, and the broccoli is just slightly blanched, and it's... yummy. If you want the recipe, I can type it up. Recipe in the comments)

This is... kind of fiddly. Thinly sliced apples sautéed in a cider and vanilla caramel thingy, and then arranged in serving-size pie shells. SO WORTH IT. Served with pecan butter ice cream it is THE BEST. But vanilla custard is OK, too.

And it looks like a flower! Original recipe, which I fiddled with a bit. The cinnamon ice cream is nice, too. But not as nice as pecan butter ice cream.

It's impossible to make bread pudding look good. This is one of those "make dad eat a shit-ton; try to refrain from wolfing down too much yourself" dishes that I get kind of... iffy... thinking about. HOWEVER if you only make one caramel sauce in your life, make sure it's this one. Because bourbon and pecans and caramel sauce: yowza. (The pudding recipe is my own: dried cranberries, a bit of orange peel, and a shot of Cointreau. The bread is home-made challah.)

Sauce recipe.

This is a lemon pie. I love the crust because there's no rolling it out, you just press it into the dish. Yay! The filling is lots of lemon + lemon peel + some sugar + eggs + ground almond + Cointreau. It was nice, and once summer is here, I'll def. serve it with some fresh fruit. The recipe is adapted from a Finnish mag, but I can translate it if someone wants it. Recipe in the comments.

Roasting chickens only works to impress people if you let them see the whole birds. I totally fail at carving them up. I really have no idea what I did to this one, but chances are it had some herbs stuck under its skin and a lemon up its butt.

Eggplant lasagna with parsley pesto. It is best ever.

Recipe.

Cloudberry Quark Cheesecake, or the dish that killed my food blog by being both ugly and a bit boring.

You're not getting a recipe, because it was boring. I'd rather eat cloudberries with sweetened quark. Actually, that's kind of... yeah. Yum.
