I really like it when I get to drive with someone who drives with a purpose and doesn't act like they're they only person on the road. I was behind said driver tonight (they were in a red truck driving through Riverside, if you think this might be you...) and I swear I wanted to get out of my car and thank him for driving so well. I was concerned I might get shot, so I stayed in the car and just sent positive vibes his (or her) direction.
More proof that the end is near... the ants are back. Not like back in the kitchen (though I did find a stray in there yesterday), but back in those weird coincidences that happen sometimes. Yesterday at a red light I stopped next to an exterminator. He had giant ants painted all over his vehicle. I don't know why I even noticed, but I did. They remind me of the creepy ants in the South Terminal baggage claim. Today's Far Side is a hilarious image of some ants carrying a big goofy-looking baby and trying to get it into their ant hill. "You idiots. We'll never get that thing down the hole!" Indeed. Reminds me of another quote, "The first of the line is tied to a tree and the last is being eaten by the ants." The ants are near, I say.
Speaking of quotes, I read these today... This first one, coincidentally appears right after a description of "red ants that come in waves of thousands and crawl into all your bodily orifices, devouring you from the inside in a matter of minutes..." (weird, huh?)
"It makes no sense to suffer in advance a misfortune that may never occur." The room got brighter when I read that one.
And... "I am not one of those women who trips twice over the same stone." I like to think I'm not, anyway.
Why is the food at Nuevo Laredo so good? Seriously. Think it has anything to do with the fact that they serve Pepsi products and not Coke?
I dropped off a big packet of papers I've been compiling today. Moving forward. It's a good thing.
I get to sleep in tomorrow. This is also good.
