the real facts...PASS IT ON!imahellcatJuly 4 2004, 08:07:42 UTC
Please Read the following with an open mind:
The war in iraq has nothing to do with usma or any of the taliban. In fact, Iraq has never attacked the US. Never once in history has Iraq done anything to the united states that makes good reasoning to start a war and kill innocent civilians. Apparently, we're trying to liberate them? how can we liberate them when we've destroyed more than half their land and their people? Another thing about your war facts. They're all screwed up.
The civil war was started because six southern states seceded from the union to form their own government called the Confederacy. A place where they could practice slavery, racism, and prejudice freely. how would you like to have the "UNITED" states broken in two, and the place where we live right now a place of hatred, racism, and violence? (Hacourt Brace "Horizons: United States History")
In World War II, we were not going to enter the war because we had not been attacked by the countries called the "Axis force". These countries were Germany, Italy, and, what do you know...JAPAN. When Japan attacked US grounds on December 7th, 1941, president Franklin Delano Roosevelt made the decision to enter the war because of the Nazi defeat of France. When France was defeated, England was left as the only "Allied force" to fight the Axis. Together, America and England defeated the Nazi regime, Japan, and Italy to win World War II. In the Korean War of 1950, North Korea invaded South Korea. Seeing as North Korea was involved with the Soviet Union (a communist nation led by a man named Joseph Stalin), America made the decision to send troops to south korea to defend the country from being taken over by communism. Gee, what war does this sound like? A president wanting to free a country from corruption? Liberation anyone? The only difference is that we were fighting off the enemy, not the people who we were trying to defend. (http://www.army.mil/cmh-pg/books/AMH/AMH-25.htm)
The choice we made to send troops to Vietnamese grounds was a a tough and controversial decision. Actually, this war resembles the war in Korea. North Vietnam was fighting the US and South Vietnam (SV) to have SV join NV and form a single communist nation, while the US and SV were fighting to keep communism out. Eventually, the war seemed as if it was never ending, so the US starting withdrawing its troops until there were no troops left. Finally, after the treaty fighting between North and South Vietnam without any Americans returning to help, South Vietnam surrendered to North Vietnam and the war ended. In the two years since Terrorists have attacked us (and mind you, Bush was in office, but vacationing when the Trade Center was attacked), Bush has forgotten the Taliban and Usama Bin Ladin (a quote: "Well, to tell you the truth, i dont really think about Usama and the Taliban very much"), the number of iraqi civilians murdered is estimated to be between 2,000 and 2,500..and here are the numbers of AMERICAN casualties:
Since May 1, 2003 total: 723 in combat: 529
Since war began: total: 863 in combat: 639
Since Capture of Saddam: total: 403 in combat: 334
Since Handover: total: 9 in combat: 8
Total Wounded: 5052.
(http://www.antiwar.com/casualties/) Also, he has invaded a country that posed absolutely no threat to anyone. That's right, it owned no Nuclear weapons..in fact, the Iraqis had never killed an american! Do NOT relate Sadaam or Iraq with the Trade Center attack. That was Afghanistan, a completely different Middle-Eastern country. The war on Iraq is simply about a little thing called Oil, friends, and how Bush has been planing on running a pipeline through a few middle eastern countries, such as Afghanistan and Iraq. Profits.
So please, before you post stuff like that, make sure you back it up with facts and evidence showing that you're right. I made sure to post all of the websites i used to write this. I hope you took the time to read my post. Also, i want you to know that my brother is planning on joining the navy, and i have nothing against the military.
