Stuff and Things
Firstly, thanks to everyone for messages of support and appreciation. I love you all.
Karl and Katie's wedding, as I'm sure people have heard by now, was excellent. Karl looked impressively dapper (and as part of my ongoing plunge into sad middle age) triggered in me extreme waistcoat envy. Although not tie envy. Because my tie was awesome. Super awesome, in fact. Katie looked absolutely stunning. I saw a whole lot of people I haven't seen in forever, and although I didn't really get chance to do more than exchange brief "hello's", usually while en route to the bar or dance floor, it was still nice to see and be seen.
I ushered. It was great. I brandished pins at people. Pins!
Works' been being a bit shit recently. We're really short-staffed, my colleagues are tin-hatted panic monkeys, and it's very busy in general. My boss, who while cool is a bit ineffective, is off, so I have stepped in as impromptu manager, largely because I'm the only one not throwing my faeces at the wall and running around in small circles shrieking. Which is pretty unusual for me. Very novel, in fact.
Did some retail therapy on Tuesday, and as well as two awesome new ties (told you I was becoming middle-aged) I also got Arkham Asylum for my X-Box, which due to the kindness, patience, and elite geek skillz of spodula is now working. It's an awesome game. I very much recommend it.
Gran's funeral is on Thursday so I'm off that day and Friday as well. I suspect I'm going to be in no fit state on Friday, but hope to recover in time for SoS, where I shall vent my sorrow via the cathartic medium of cooking fools and beating Tyrann.
Right, off now to eat pasta. Mmmm... pasta...
