....should be coming soon.
I'm kinda too poor to come home for a while, so I'll probably be back by, I dunno, the weekend of Martin Luther King Day.....
Until then, I'd like to answer a few questions from the lovely and talented (Both in musical abilities and by the Sailor Moon dub reference),
camui_shei 1. Leave me a casual comment of no particular significance, like a lyric to your current favorite song, your favorite kind of sandwich, or maybe your favorite game. Any remark, meaningless or not.
2. I will respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
3. Update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. Include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in your own post.
5. When others respond with a desultory comment, you will ask them five questions.
1. What inspired your LJ username?
Back in high school, I was a huge Spice Girls fanboy. I mean, the kind who wanted to recruit four friends and wear a Union Jack t-shirt and red Afro wig for the talent show. Anyway, I wrote this stand-up comedy bit for the school play my senior year (Something most of you don't know, I've actually done some stand-up comedy), and the joke was things that came from England that need to go back, and I mentioned Mad Cow Disease and the Spice Girls in the same punchline. The next day in choir class, I dubbed myself "Mad Cow" Spice, mostly to let people know that I was only joking and that I still liked the Spices, and because "Tekno", "Cyber" and "Psycho were already taken....
2. Of all the things in the world to cosplay....why Pikachu?
Well, it started sometime after Ohayocon of '05. I wanted to do a character-inspired outfit, and originally wanted to do Hamtaro. But, the logistics of what I wanted to do didn't work without it looking a mess. So, I was on Cosplay.com one night, and a stroke of inspiration hit me: Pimp Ash and the Poke-Hoes I decided I'd do a male version of one of those characters, originally a raver version of Pikachu. Plus, I love Pokemon. The early versions of Pikachu were a lot simpler, but from what little I wore it at my first ACen, I got a lot of positive response. So I went with it. I do it because I absolutely LOVE the character, and I get a lot of attention when I walk around as Pikachu. Most people know who Pikachu is, and even my non-cosplayer friends know me as "Giant Black-Ass Pikachu" (I had a lot of fun entertaining kids at Motor City Comic Con). Besides, I don the ears and tail, and it's as if Lindsay Lohan came up in that piece (Except I'm not doing coke lines off of the tail with a rolled-up con badge).
Short answer, I look really hot in yellow.
3. You're always bouncing around between different kinds of jobs. Is there a particular occupation that you'd like to settle down in?
To be honest, I'd love to work as a graphic designer one day, or something with computers otherwise. Right now, I'm doing what I need to in order to pay those bills, but eventually, I'd like to do what I want to and making twice (Or more) what I do now.
4. You've been part of the group longer than I have. How did you get introduced to everyone?
That's actually another cosplay-related story. I discovered Cosplay.com one night in 2004 and declared that I wanted to cosplay Barret since I'd never seen another Barret before, and it just so happened that Morgan came across my post and wanted to help me make the costume. We started talking, and did so for a while. He then invited me to the infamous barbecue at his house, but I didn't know anyone else that was in the group. I called Ruth to join me because, at that time, she and I really needed the benefit of making new friends, and I knew there'd at least be one person there I knew. And the rest is history...
5. Where in the world IS Carmen Sandiego?
She's out getting me a 3-piece from a Popeye's Chicken in Korea...I just hope that bitch brings me my change....
