Day one: Discuss how you got into Harry Potter

This one's easy; I use to borrow books off my friends a lot, when I was younger, so I heard my friends going wax eloquent over the series, and manage to convince them to lend me the first book, then the next, then the next, then the next... Even the ones on the top shelf that she had to ask her mum to get down.

It was really when i got quite a bit older, when I started to think more about the politics in the books that got me interested in the power dynamics in this popular series, I suppose.
