Alright guys, it's summer, and you know what that means...
LOCAL MUSIC MADNESS.
This morning I was just getting off the bus downtown and who'd I run into other than Joey Where's-your-house-key. Joey was part of the pot-smoking punk-rocking crowd that I was so fond of back in the good ol' MRHS. Anyway, he mentioned to me that he's got a new band going with a couple of other ex-Rams, and they've got some gigs coming up. After we said goodbye I didn't really give it another thought; our locals aren't generally known for their stellar musicianship or ingenuity. When I got home though, I decided to check his band's website out, just in case.
I go to www.myspace.com/more .....and this band is a diamond. Holy hell man, they're killing me softly with their songs!!! I'd compare their sound to like a Hendrix/Metallica blend, but it's really unfair to give them any comparisons -- they've got so much newness it's unbelievable! ...Although it's obvious the lead singer (Josie's "hot californian" Tyler) listens to the Vines on repeat (like I do).
Anyway I HELLA plan to check out More's show on the 24th. Other than the fact that the name basically sucks, I can see these smashing pumpkins getting signed....fucking, TOMORROW.
