What with a big project eating all my time and moving house, I haven't had a lot of time or energy for holiday spirit. But things are looking up. I kicked off the month with a visit with
fizzygeek to her parents, and got to meet
keighsie and
ayasdollz in real life and have a great day poking around Tubac and Tumacácori with them.
I've set up a 50 year old series-wired candelabra that has to be fixed every day in the old house, and got out the old metal ornament hanger tree. At the new house, I've set up a yule tree, electric candles in the windows, lights on the porch, and an inflatable santa with cactus from Arizona.
I've emptied out my storage locker as much as I can without using a truck. All that remains to be moved are the jet engine, the last pinball machine, and the mixer I bought for
maugorn and then lost in the storage locker.
And I got a wish from my holiday list! I had wished for a Nikon 18-200mm ƒ/3.5-5.6 G ED-IF AF-S VR DX Zoom-Nikkor lense. Since I had a customer meeting in McLean, I swung by Tysons Corner and noticed that Circuit City was winding up their going-out-of-business sale. And I found a Nikon 55-200mm ƒ/1.4-5.6 ED AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor lense on the very cheap! I also nabbed a Milwaukee heat gun that should last, to replace the cheapie no-name one that died after maybe 2 days' use at
red_lynx's.
