twelve items or less plz
OMFG WHO THE HELL THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO MAKE ME WORK THE EXPRESS LANE?!
In the past FOUR DAYS I have worked over 48 HOURS, all of which were on the express lane. I get yelled at by everyone because I'm either too slow (it's not a race! don't hurry me and I won't accidentally overcharge you for your freaking bananas by leaning on the scale!) or because I let people with more than twelve items through my line (I actually get in trouble if there's more than fifteen. When they say TWELVE ITEMS OR LESS, they mean it!) or because I apparently am so stupid that I put grapes and pretzels in a bag together and don't see what's wrong with it. (this guy literally made me cry last night.)
But yay for bad weather and tornadoes! You'd think that I'd be used to them by now, having lived in the area for my entire life, but they are still AWESOMELY COOL and pee-your-pants scary no matter what. And now that I live in Edwardsville hail damage and power outages seem like daily occurences.
Maybe it's just been a really bad year though.
But for the first time in what apparently is YEARS the power went out at Schnucks tonight. This is the best news I've heard in WEEKS because the store is actually closing for a few hours tomorrow morning so that they can throw out half the milk and whatever else they do for damage control. As a result, I don't have to go in until 2pm tomorrow, which means I only have a four hour shift! Thisi s made even better by the fact that I'm off on Thursday and that I don't have to go in until four on Friday. Yay for evening/night shifts! Starting Friday I'll be working somewhere around twenty five hours a week and the earliest I should have to go in is one in the afternoon! No more early mornings! And it works out well since I'm the only person on planet earth who prefers the 4pm-midnight shift, since I normally don't wake up until 2pm anyway.
OH. AND MY CAR HAS DIED A MOST PAINFUL DEATH INVOLVING OVERHEATING AND GOING A FULL CALENDAR YEAR WITHOUT CHANGING THE OIL AND PUTTING ON 7000 MILES SINCE SEPTEMBER. I FEEL LIKE I'VE LOST A VERY, VERY GOOD FRIEND.
