Stardust commentary and request for help w/beta
OK, I just got back from seeing Stardust, and all I'll say about it is this: absolutely delightful! Oh, and Septimus is hawt.
I went directly to Barnes & Noble and bought the book after I got out of the theater.
In less pleasant news, I've come to realize that I've been trying to work on a fic that nobody wants to read. This has been somewhat disheartening and frustrating for me. But I'm a proud, stubborn woman, even when I've suffered a severe bruise to the ego. In my mind, this story has become a "Little Fic That Could" of sorts. I'm not giving up that easily.
From the very honest, thoughtful, and constructive criticism I've received from friends, I've figured out some of the weaknesses in the story. I've been rethinking the whole thing and decided to revamp the plot. I'll probably take the first three chapters and edit them, perhaps making them into one or two chapters instead. I'm taking Lil out, even though I still love the concept I had of her, and putting the Rani in. My Romana was basically the Rani with more emotion and a conscience anyway, so she might as well be in there. I love the Rani, she just didn't seem to fit into my original plans.
So right now I'm looking for a Brit/Canon-picker and beta reader for a multi-chaptered, semi-dramatic, semi-comedic, rather smutty Who fic featuring Ten/Simm!Master/Lucy!Romana/Rani. If anybody could point out where I might find anybody who'd be interested in doing that, even if it's just for a few chapters, please let me know. It'd be very much appreciated. :)
