Jay Monte Gibson
July 5, 1969-January 8, 2009
As some of you have already heard, Mike's brother Jay died last Thursday due to a heroin overdose.
Although I think most of his family and friends knew this was coming, it is a tragedy and is hard to accept nonetheless.
I had my issues with him because of many things that have happened over the years, but before this evil addiction took a hold of him I would have considered us close. He lived by us for many years, and before his ugly divorce and loss of custody of his daughter Madelyn, our daughters spent almost every minute together.
Mike and Jay were extremely close and his sister Kathy died 7 years ago also due to heroin and Mike is now the only child left in his family. This ordeal has been very hard on him and I won't go into the details, but he saw more than anyone should ever have to witness.
His parents now have to bury another one of their children.My heart aches for his family.
For those of you who knew him, his obituary will be in Sunday's paper and services will be held this Monday at 2:00. All other information can be found in his obituary.
I hope he has found the peace that he so deserves.
