Kris felt the bed dip with Adam's wieight- funny how, with his eyes closed, he still knew it was Adam. But that's just the way things were between the two of them. The felt eachothers emotions, they fit together like two pieces of a puzzle. And knowing this brought a smile to Kris' face.
"Why are you smiling, sick people dont smile. It's unnatural." Kris just sighed and rolled onto his side, wrapping his arms around the bigger man and snuggling up close to him. Adam chuckled and planted a soft kiss on the tip of his boyfriend's nose.
"Are you feeling better?" He asked, rubbing circles on Kris' back. Kris opened his eyes to find Adam's chrystal blue ones only a few inches away. Kris smiled.
" I am now." He said with that puppy-dog look in his eyes. Adam cracked a smile, kissing his nose again. "That was really cheesie." Kris laughed.
"I know."
Adam stroked his hair, running his fingers through occasionally. "I should call Cale, tell him you can't go.Plus you need your rest." He got up off the bed and headed for the door.
"Adam?" Came Kris' voice. Adam turned around, raising an eyebrow. "Yeah?"
Kris had an apologetic smile. "Could you do me a favor?"

And that's how I ended up spending my day with a bunch of rugrats, attempting to fit my ass into a tiny chair at a miniture table. I mean its bad enough I had to stay the whole day, until the last munchkin left but the the little girl wrapped around my ankle and pulling on my leg wasn't helping much either.
"Cindy. How 'bout coloring?" I attempted weakly.
"NO!"
"Dress up?" I could handle dress up.I liked dress up.
"NO! I WANT A TEA PARTY AHH-DUMM!!" The little blond thing screamed, tugging my leg.
"Alright! Lets have a tea party!" I gave up, tugging her off of me and setting her on the little purple chair next to me. Cindy gave me a grin- Where were her front teeth?- and went to get her tea set. I sighed, putting my head down on the table.A few minutes later Cindy returned- I knew because I felt a sudden wieght on my head.Oh God, I moaned internally when my finger tips touched the cloth on my head. I whipped the hideous purple disaster of my head and nearly gagged.
"Ms. Fensterstien, you must keep your beautiful hat on your head!" Cindy scolded, wacking my arm with her doll. She placed a little tea cup in front of me and poured some water and-Oh my  god, is that dirt? I stared at the mysterious brown liquid and frowned at her.
"Drink up Ms.Fensterstien!" Cindy said crossly, glaring at me. I groaned and picked up the tiny cup in my big hands and looked at it doubtfully.I put it to my lips and made a slurping noise. "Oh, yum.Cindy that's so good!" I grinned and she visibly brightend.
"Cindy, are you playing nice?" An elderly woman asked, coming over and picking up the munchkin. She looked at me and snickerd.
I guess she thinks seeing a twenty eight year old man squeezed in a toddler's chair, holding a little girl's teacup and wearing a hidious, flowery purple sun hat is funny. Me...not so much.
"Me and Ms.Fensterstien  are having a tea party!" Cindy exclaimed brightly and the lady raised an eyebrow at me. I raised my tea cup-When in doubt, pinky out- and smiled "Cheers."
"You seem like a very well mannerd young lady." She snorted at me.I rolled my eyes and she took the rugrat over to the art's and crafts table.I whipped off the hat and stood u-Oh no.Oh fuckity fuck fuck fuckery.
I gripped the edges of the chair and pushed letting out a sigh when my butt finally got out. I looked around carefully, thank god no one saw that.
The next few hours went by slow as hell. But thankfully, it was nap time!
The lights were dimmed and the mats were layed out. I helped a few little ones get comfy and tried not to step on them. Graceful on stage, damn clumsy everywhere else. Back in the corner I saw little girl tossing and turning, letting out little squeaky noises. I went over and sat down next to her.
"What's the matter hon?" I asked, my voice coming out really soft.
"I can't sleep..My tummy hurts!" She whinned, rolling onto her back and throwing her arm over her eyes. I held back a laugh.Dramatic.I liked her already!
"How about I get you some of water?"
"Okay."
I got up and went to the water cooler and filled a plastic cup up with cold water. When I got back she was sitting up and waiting.I handed her the water and she downed it like Aunt Jean did with her shots at the last family reunion. She handed me the cup.I smiled. "Better?"
She shook her head. "My tummy's good but i still can't sleep."
I got an idea. "Lay down sweetie." She did. I smiled and soothingly rubbed gentle circles into her back.

"Broken pieces break into me,
So imperfectly what you should be.
I dont want you to go,
Dont wanna see you back out in the cold."

I sang softly and her eyelids closed breathing slowing down.By the end of the chorus she was asleep.I pulled her blanket up around her and continued to rub her back softly.I looked around. It was peaceful.
Im starting to like it here.
