yay for february!

I went home this weekend to surprise my father for his birthday. My sister and I bought him a pretty digital camera and then we took him (and the entire family) out to eat at this really cool Italian place. I was also able to meet up with Melanie. We spent a good half hour bad mouthing darkestrose06 and her shoes (slash not really). Of course, we had the mandatory boy talk which was slightly less depressing than usual on my part. All in all, it was a pretty chill weekend

I'm also back at school and classes have started up. As much as I like being on campus and seeing people that also means that I have work to do. I've already got one paper due tomorrow and approximately three for next week. I probably should be stressing but instead I spend my time watching episodes of The Office and changing my livejournal layout. I'd like to think that schoolwork doesn't faze me. It'll get done eventually-that just how I operate.

If it makes you feel any better, I didn't spend my entire week doing nothing. I had my interview for another campus job recently. It didn't go nearly as badly as I thought it would. Although somehow I ended up talking about the biscuits at Red Lobster with my interviewer. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing but I will say that he was totally into the conversation.

In other news, Valentine's Day is fast approaching which means two things. The first thing is that Screw Your Roommate TAP is next saturday. It's a party sponsored by the Social Council in which your friends are able to pick someone to "screw" you to before hand. Then at the party everyone is given a number and you have to find whoever you're screwed to who has the same number. Sometimes, it's a crush that you have and other times it's someone that you had a really uncomfortable encounter with. Last year, mine was the latter. Due to that horrifyingly awkward experience I have told my friends not to screw me to anyone...I'm pretty sure they won't listen and hence another reason (besides the normal ones) to dread Valentine's Day. The second thing is that I feel the need to be a proper D/G fan and write a short drabble to celebrate. It'll be so short it may not actually have anything to do with Valentine's Day. But then again, as I said before, that's just how I operate.
