I was gonna try to do this on DW but I can't handle the not-user-friendly photo situation today, and this is a photo-heavy post. I just want to be able to drag and drop, man!!
SO the first thing I made in 2017 were 18th c stays. These were from the Simplicity 8162 American Duchess pattern and they went together really easily! I did wish I'd made them one size down.
Then I made a black wool 18th c traveling outfit for Colonial Williamsburg. I was inspired by some images I'd seen of ladies wearing a habit with pocket hoops, but I have to admit I didn't execute the skirt part very well. It's too flat! At least the jacket turned out nicely!
I also made a black velvet cape, but I didn't get the hood attached, and it ended up being too warm out to wear it anyway. This cape is now a UFO.

Next was the Francaise Dinner. I wanted to wear my black Francaise again, so I jazzed it up with a new wig I made. Silly and fun!
After that it was Titanic Season, and I'd made a new jacket from the Butterick B6108 to go with a skirt I made a few years ago
I started making a springtime teens era day dress for Winterthur Point to Point, but I hit some construction snags and then the weather turned so it wouldn't be warm out, so I ended up wearing something I already had. This outfit is now an official UFO

Next it was time to make the dress for my annual Victorian Party. I decided to go with red and white stripe Natural Form style using Truly Victorian patterns.

I took a bit of a break from sewing for a while and then started working on a new dress for the Jazz Age Lawn Party
Photo of the dress on the manequin is better than on me, so here it is. Turned out nice, I just don't like the style on me. Butterick B6399
Took a short break before I began the dress for Carolyn's Big Bustle Birthday Bash, which I decided would be a lacy, sparkly number I was in love with from The Met archives
I also made a matching "flower pot" hat
Next I made some jewelry for The Last Tzar Dinner in November... necklace and a double portrait brooch of the Tzar and Tzarina
After the dinner it was time to make a new pelisse for Stephanie's annual Pumpkin Tea! I used the new Laughing Moon pelisse pattern and loved it

https://www.flickr.com/photos/m-and-g/albums/72157666275720939 I took a few weeks off from sewing for Thanksgiving and for the 1st anniversary of my mom's death. That was hard to say the least, but it's over and I do feel better having gotten past that date.
Right before Christmas I started a dress for New Year's Eve inspired by this Worth dress from The Met. I was throwing a small Victorian Supper Party and was excited to bust out all my silver servewear and candelabras. It was a lovely night!
I think I'm required by law to register sleeves this large with the county.
This dress was a mix of patterns! The sleeves are view 4 from the Truly Victorian 1890s sleeves pattern. The bodice is a modified Laughing Moon 1890s bodice view C. The skirt is a modified Butterick 3418 view A/B
Phew! So that's it for 2017. 2018 will be consumed by CoCo sewing. I have to finalize my sewing plans. I can't wait to see so many of you there!!
