Just a rant, but damn it, I'm writing...
This is pretty much just a rant about a specific type of headache… Other than that it’s not terribly interesting.
I get headaches after sex (look at that, an over share right off the bat!). It’s just a fact of life for me. It’s likely connected to the fact that I have frightfully low blood pressure. Maybe it’s that I get anemic once a month (during that time, I am an iron vampire). And, my favorite option of all, it could be connected to my vertigo.
Which ever way, it’s annoying. Sometimes, if the sex is mind-blowing-ly awesome… rather than just super way cool, the headaches can get so intense that I can’t lift my head without getting tunnel vision or my sight blacking out entirely.
The other day I discovered a new and exciting side effect; if I get into a really hot shower afterward, I get so dizzy I feel like I’m going to vomit. And, the headache gets infinitely worse.
Very occasionally I can shove the headache into my boy’s head and revel in his afterglow (silly person, actually having an orgasm). But, frankly, this isn’t any better in the long run. Once I start trying to walk again, the skull-exploding pressure comes back.
And the special thing about these headaches; they are absolutely nothing like any other I have ever experienced. I had a migraine once that lasted three days and prevented me from eating that whole time. I get cluster migraines that feeling like ice-picks of pain so intense they blind and disorient, but fade after 60 or so seconds. I get the stress headaches of a pinched nerve or a bone-deep tension.
None of these compares to the sensation of my skull being emptied and threatening to collapse from the lack of internal pressure. Like being sucked out a window into the vacuum of space… in my head.
Why am I sharing this? Because it sucks, and I wanted to complain.
