On the Saturday before Christmas, I went out with my friends in fancy dress; I was a pirate, L was Snow White and S was Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz. It was great fun, but something about fancy dress seems to attract sleazy men. It's not like I was wearing a bum skimming skirt or anything, I had shorts on with opaque tights and pirate boots 'cause it was freezing, so god knows why I was like a homing beacon for weirdos. The best bit of the night was singing Fairytale of New York in a big circle with these people we'd just met.
On Christmas Day we went to my aunt's house for dinner, as usual. Gawds, my aunt makes great dinner, I always end up scoffing all the roast potatoes and parsnips. I didn't think I'd even like parsnips, but they're yummy roasted with honey. My cousin got Sims Bon Voyage as a gift, so he was showing me all the cool new stuff in buy/build mode. I can make Wutai as a holiday resort now there's pagoda style roofing! *dance* Also, pirates! Ninja! Sea shanteys! Jewellery that doesn't flash blue! Back at home, I watched the Doctor Who Christmas Episode and ate chocolate coins. I forgot Kylie was an actress before a singer, so I was momentarily surprised that she could act.
I went to see my doctor last Wednesday 'cause of my stupid depression, and he referred me for counselling and gave me a note for a month off work. That's a weight off my mind, because I think work is actually depressing me even more. I'm supposed to have exams at uni next week, but I really don't know whether I'm up to taking them. My moods have been so sucky lately, I haven't been able to think about revising. It took all my energy just to drag myself to uni to hand in my creative writing portfolio.
Oh, yeah, New Year's Eve. I was supposed to be going out but I was ill so I ended up staying home. I was awake for the countdown and the fireworks though. I have made some resolutions, whether I stick to them remains to be seen. I wanted to exercise more, but I hurt my knee so I can't do my workout until it's healed. I think I'll go for one resolution this year: just to have more fun!
