Cats!: Tell me this cat isn't spoiled.

(sorry if that messes up some layouts, didn't realize how wide it was and am too lazy to fix it--but not too lazy to mention how lazy I am, figure that, huh?)

Yes, that's a cat.  A cat in a wee tent.  (and despite how it looks, she enjoys getting in it and playing)

That's (if memory serves) Mavis, one of my parents' two cats.  Both are small, fat and black so when pictured alone I can never tell who's who (side by side you can tell, Mavis is far fatter and Rhoda has a little white spot on her throat).  And yes, that's a "real" tent.  It's one of the cute little display ones they have at Target.  My sister (who works at Target putting up and removing signs) scored a bunch of them for the family.  Since my mother's cats are declawed (something I no longer condone but will not blame my mother for doing) they can't really destroy their tents.  I've toyed with giving my wee tents (I have two) to my cats but I know they'd go Godzilla on them in a matter of minutes and I'd be out two cute wee tents (which are a great size for sock monkeys, just so you know).

And, for the record, that mop head (that's the orange thing on the right there) is not in the frame merely because my mother was cleaning (HAH, no one in my family is given to much in the way of housekeeping!).  That's one of the cats' toys, too.  In the words of my mother, "They started playing with it, so I let them have it."  That pretty much sums up my parents' attitude toward their cats.  What kitty wants, kitty gets.  Be it a wee tent or a mop head.  (you think I'm joking?  my mother went and bought a second hamper when the cats claimed the first one as their own and she bought a small fountain for the front room just so the cats could play in it BUT they don't like it when the fountain is on so my mother keeps it unplugged, lest her furry charges be upset).

Now all they need are a few of the little display sleeping bags.  Trust me, my sister is working on getting them (I have first dibs though, cats).
