Sims blather : More firsts (for me)

Yesterday (while having a day off from work) I FINALLY went into my game.  It's been a while.

Why so long?  Quite frankly I'm kind of afraid of it.  Afraid it just won't work right and I'll get all excited to play it and then be denied.  Dumb, I know, but not unfounded given the history of the new machine.

Sadly, while I did play all day I didn't do anything with Peculiar.  I want to get a few more pics to really flesh out part 3 of "Strange Bedfellows" but I got distracted (and wanted to give the game and computer a nice workout that wouldn't result in losing any Peculiar stuff should there be a crash or something horrible).

Distracted by my Alterna-Strangetown.  I have just about everyone made over so it was time to get to the stragglers.  Those stragglers being the Beaker house.

Is it just me or is Nervous Subject hard to makeover?  Nervous really needs a stand out hair do.  I think it's the long face/head and hang dog eyes that do it.  I'm quite happy with his new look and it inspired a little short story (which will be up soon).  So of course once I started playing the Beaker household, I had to play a few others to flesh out the story.  Other houses like the Ottomas abode.

That's where I saw (a first for me) a sim autonimously destroy an urn.  Sharla Ottomas (teen) who had a very good relationship with her grandmother, tramped the hell out of her urn.  I had (due to the Ottomas house being crazy) forgotten that Dora's urn was smack in the middle of the living room.  It had been there for a day or so when all of the sudden Sharla raced downstairs and starting having a tizzy, a tizzy I soon learned was her trampling the urn (much to the horror of the rest of the family, including toddlers Leona and Larry who promptly plummeted into the red).  So now Dora's grave marker is totally gone which means I won't have a groovily dressed ghost granny floating about *sigh*.

Speaking of the Ottomi, I found that Peter is hard to makeover, too.  The kind of skeevy look he has (with the tank top shirt) really suits him (though I will say, Alterna-Strangetown's Peter has kept it in his pants, more than I can say for Samantha Ottomas!).

Yes, Samantha Ottomas stepped out on her man (well, she actually bedded down her lover in a photobooth in the yard while the rest of the house slept--brazen hussy!).  It's part of my focus on doing things I don't normally do.  In keeping with that theme, Pascal Curious is STRAIGHT.  A HUGE first for me.  He's also a secondary Romance sim (seeing him Love Strut is a riot).  While Pascal might be straight (and kind of a dicksmear) and Samantha's hot to trot, I still can't quite make Nervous totally straight.  I tried, really, I did.  I had him check out both Circe and Loki (hey, they were the only ones around) and he definitely prefers Loki.  I also managed to shake Crystal off of Lazlo (she shunned his romantical advances, much to my amusement) AND got Tank Grunt on the track to a girlfriend (BEFORE Ripp--the girl in question actually finds Ripp repulsive with a big ole X bolt and the whole works).

I also chose Sim State for my college.  I think I might have played it WAY back in the day.  So all those new faces should be fun, too.

I should have the little short story ready in a day or so.  I think I need to pay a visit to Olive Spectre (and her wymyn's commune) first.  I'm sure she'd have some things to say about her son's living situation.
