Yes, you read that right. It's time for a hitchin.
(Background: Angus Khillian is the youngest son of Jupiter Khillian. Lunar Rockette Laide is the youngest daughter of Hemp "Captain Hero" Laide. Angus and Lunar Rockette (Rocky) finally graduated college and are ready to move on--quite literally--with their lives.)
They had temporarily settled in a house in downtown. Rocky's work (growing Bubble plants for the Soulja Girls Bubble trade) required a high level of privacy, especially given both her father and soon to be father-in-law were in law enforcement.
"I can't believe these clothes. Newly released convicts don't even dress this poorly. And maybe I'll pick out a dress for the wedding. . ."
Angus arched his eyebrow at the thought of Rocky in a real dress.
Both found shopping to be one of those annoying little necessities of life. Rocky was in a hurry to get it over with.
So much so that she had chosen everything online ahead of time to streamline the browsing. Angus loved this about her.
Along with the new clothes, Rocky had to pick up something for work.
Un-traceable and pre-paid with a huge service range. Perfect.
Rocky felt much more comfortable in her new clothes. But Angus was eager to see her all dressed up.
"Why don't you show me your dress. We can have a practice honeymoon."
"No way, horndog. We agreed to have a real wedding to keep the parents happy and I'll be damned if you're getting a sneak peek at my girl clothes. But, if you want to practice for the honeymoon with me dressed like this. . ."
Angus would never turn down a romp with Rocky.
Their wedding had day finally arrived.
Angus hadn't seen his brothers in a while. Shamus was excited for him, letting it slip that he'd been engaged to Romeo for some time. Montgomery still hadn't gotten engaged to his long time girlfriend. Neither Angus or Shamus were surprised. Monty was always a bit slow to action.
Rocky was left to entertain the rest of Angus's family.
"Where's your sister?"
"Oh, she wasn't feeling well. She was sad to miss it though."
Rocky was still having a bit of trouble keeping Rosalie and Rubina separate. Best to avoid using any names to avoid foot-in-mouth disease.
She was relieved when her parents finally showed up.
"Mom, finally!"
"What? You thought we weren't going to show up?" Belle looked at her daughter's outfit. "This is a very. . .non-traditional wedding, huh?"
"I told you I wanted everyone to feel comfortable. If you want to change, that's fine but no biggie."
"Dad!"
"Hey, girlie. You look good. So where's this soon to be son-in-law?"
Angus, having been keeping watch for Rocky's parents, made his way over.
"Mr. Laide. It's so good to see you again. I'd like to introduce you to my brothers."
While Angus kept Hemp occupied, Rocky took Belle to me Angus's father.
"Mom, this is Angus's father, Jupiter. Jupiter, this is my mother, Belle. I think you've met before, right?"
Rocky was pleased to see everyone getting along so well. She hadn't been overly concerned, what with Jupiter currently working under her father in the Nocheat police department.
And she was relieved to see Artemis had arrived. Good ole Artemis, so girly and such a good friend. Rocky wondered if Angus would like to see her in a dress like that?
Rocky had a feeling the dress she had picked out would get Angus's attention. And she was definitely looking forward to seeing him in a suit.
The couple casually made their way to the wedding arch, letting guests know they were welcome to watch if they felt so inclinded.
They waited for everyone to get changed and comfortable. Rocky couldn't help thinking about her father. They'd had their differences in the past, nothing big, but they definitely were complete opposites.
Angus took her hands, snapping her out of her daze.
"I love your dress," he teased. "But you could use a little bling." He slipped he wedding band on her finger, both of them grinning like patients in an asylum.
"You look pretty fine yourself. Navy blue suits you," Rocky joked. "And look at this," she produced the ring, "now we match." She slid the ring on Angus's finger. "Wonder twin powers, activate." They both laughed while their parents started clapping.
"Kiss, kiss, kiss." The chant had started back at the fishing pond, probably by Angus's brother Shamus and his step-father, Onus.
"Let's give the people what they came for." Angus offered.
The chanting gave way to hooting and hollering from just about everyone as they stood and started clapping.
Rocky looked over at her father.
She was going to miss him. Just like Angus would miss his family. Rocky felt tears starting to form. Then, she looked up and saw. . .
. . .Was that Artemis? What on earth was she wearing? Rocky suddenly remembered their conversation about how bridesmaids always had to look hideous, so the bride would look that much more beautiful, and burst out laughing. Artemis gave her a thumbs up and moved toward the buffet.
With the swapping of the rings, the only thing left to do was eat.
And mingle.
"You look so great. I love your dress. I hope my wedding is this cool. Rosalie is going to be so mad she missed it."
Rubina was quite the chatterbox.
And no wedding is complete without an emotional parent giving a toast.
"To my son and my new daughter. I think I speak for everyone here when I say we love you and congratulations."
While his eyes did well up, Jupiter was able to maintain his composure.
The guests ate, chatted, and fished. And Rocky and Angus cut the wedding cake.
"Oh, come on, Angus." Jupiter heckled. "I've seen you take bigger bites than that!"
Then, it was time for the newlyweds to surprise their guests.
"Hey, guys." Rocky tried to get everyone's attention. "We really appreciate you all coming to have a good time with us, but unfortunately we only have the pavillion for a bit longer. But we have some limos coming to take you all over to the Crypt'O Night Club for dancing and drinks or whatever you want. We're going to make sure everything is taken care of here, then we'll join you."
The limos pulled up and everyone began piling in.
"Yes, dad, we'll be over in a bit. Don't let mom drink too much."
"Rocky!" Belle chided from inside the limo. "There's no such thing as too much!"
"Phew, look at this mess. I guess we'd better start cleaning. . ."
"It can wait," Rocky reached for Angus's hand. "Come sit with me."
"So, there you go."
Angus laughed.
"I'm going to miss them."
"Yeah, me too. Did you see Artemis's dress? She cracks me up."
Rocky tried to ignore the ringing.
"Will you just answer that damn thing. I don't know why you even. . ."
Rocky answered, ready to bawl out whoever it was on the ohter end.
"No, I told you I'd call you afterward. Yes, we got the gifts. Thanks. Now leave us alone, ok?"
"I'm sorry, Angus. It was Inkberry. She's about to pop out her baby and couldn't make it. She says congratulations."
"Come here, cute boy."
"So you like this frock, huh?"
Angus raised his eyebrows and growled.
"You look great, Rocky. You should wear party dresses all the time. That way I'd have easier access. . ."
"Perv. This thing is a pain, dragging all along the ground." Rocky hitched the skirt of her dress up to her knees. "That's better."
It was nice to have some time alone after entertaining the family all afternoon.
"I have a secret." Rocky teased.
"Yeah? What?"
She pulled Angus back and on top of her and slid his hand under her skirt.
"You're not wearing any panties. How LEWD."
They consummated their marriage on the bench, then left the pavillion. They'd lose the deposit but they didn't have time to clean up. They were on a tight schedule.
"Yeah, it was great. We just got back. I feel kind of bad, sneaking out like this. Yeah, it's really the only way. We're leaving now. I'll let you know our progress when I can. I'm sure I'll hit a few dead places, so. . .Good luck with the baby. If it's a girl, name her Rocky."
They were right on schedule. They'd be to the first hotel a little after dark.
"You have everything, right? All your papers and stuff?" Rocky sighed.
"I'm good. Did you leave the key under the mat for the landlord?"
Rocky nodded.
"Ok, then. Let's get this show on the road."
