Here, on Saturday, I was with my very good friend, who will be called, Wrobeleskiderianhofferwitz, or, for shortness, "Hoffer". The Hoffer and I sat together in my living room, where there is potted plant, and music, and then were we thinking, "It is time for lunch!" What was there to eat in Madame Ilyana's fridge, but sausage? This, then, is the best way for making the sausage sandwich.
There must be many onions! Take them and slice them thin, and fry until they are soft and limp. The sausage, also, is fried, to be golden brown on the outside. But before it is all the way cooked, pierce it with your fork and slice it, down the middle, in the long way, so that you have two sausages which are flatter. Then, fry the flat side down until it, too, is of the golden color.
Bread, slicing it thickly, is put in toaster and, when done, is buttered. As the Hoffer says, remember, butter both of your breads! There is never too much butter. Place your onions, soft and limp, and your sausage into the bread, and then eat it with much enjoyment.
This I hope will give you very good lunch.
