Best Cover Song?
Awhile back, a friend of mine hosted a "Sad Sack" party where attendees brought their top 5 most depressing songs of all time. We listened to them, rated them, and decided who had brought the saddest song. I came armed with Nine Inch Nails (Something I Can Never Have), The Frames (What Happens When the Heart Just Stops), The Smiths (Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me), and two others that I can't remember at the moment. But even with gloomy Moz and angsty Trent, I came in second. :-(
This time around she's asking for our top 3 favorite cover songs. We'll be playing the cover tune and the original for comparison purposes. But only 3!?!? That's not enough! I'm sure that whatever I think of, I will have forgotten some gems and then kick myself later for doing so. So far I'm considering these:
