All day: 1897 Thunder Road

Jul 24, 2007 12:36

The morning was already hot and muggy when Mina stepped out on her porch to survey the village that was to be her new home. She kept to the shadows, of course, and once again marveled over the usefulness of sunblock 50. It did not protect her completely, and her powers were still weakened by the daylight, but it did make things considerably less uncomfortable.

She had spent the night unpacking, though there was still much work to be done before the rooms were arranged to her satisfaction. But for now, she was taking a break. Modern rock had replaces the classical music from the night before. Mina settled on the porch swing, reading "Conversations with the Bloodsucker" with an amused look on her face. Between it and the stack of Annette Blain books inside, she would be most entertained for some time.
