This doesn't have to do with Lolita, but it's important nonetheless....
One year ago today, at about high noon, something very special happened to me. Thanks to a certain group of people, led by one amazing, talented, aspiring dancer, and God, I was presented with a choice. I made a decision that changed my life on that day. This decision was made without my mother's consent, and without my father or brothers knowing. Now, a year after I made that choice, me, and not anyone else in my name, I look back and see the road I have taken.
I took the road less traveled by,
and it has made all the difference.
I wonder what my fate would had been,
had I taken the road more traveled then mine,
though I wish not to travel both.
I shall not save that other path for another day,
as I wish not to see what would befall me,
had I taken that road.

Thank you to Arie, for inviting me to church over a year ago; thank you to everyone at Broadview Road Church of Christ for accepting me and teaching me, you all helped me to decide to be baptized on March 15, 2009, and I have never been more certain that I made a good decision in all of my life.
This past year, though filled with a good deal of tough things, has probably been the best in my life. I've grown in so many ways, and one of the big factors has been because of my attendence at Broadview Road. I've become closer to God, and I've surrounded myself with people who actually care what the Bible said and are walking the Christian walk every day. It's a tough, rocky road, and not quite like the Ice Cream. It's more of that long walk in the rain and muck to the store to get that tub of sweet delicous confectionary, then trudging home, and grabbing the spoon and taking that first bite of delicious Rocky Road Ice Cream. It tastes so much better because of that walk to the store, and it's so much more rewarding.
It's not the best analogy, but I think it fits in a way, having only just Saturday made a trudge through the rain to get some groceries. ;)
