(no subject)
I am back from a two day trip to waynad.
This was one of the few impromtu trips i have taken .. probably the only.
I believe in extensive research before granting any place/resort/hotel honor of my presence and almost always endup paying way too much .. this was a welcome change.
Was working from home on friday to avoid the rush hr traffic and a frind proposes this trip ..We agree pack and leave!
good roads and a beautiful mist covered drive through the mountains was rejuvenating for the senses :)
Most memorable experience of the trip was the horse ride.
I never had done that before .. not that i was missing nething..and i am not exactly fond of animals and wud prefer to maintain my distance. Its not fear but i like to hv my space :)
After reading shantaram i got this weird stupid idea of riding a horse .. of all things!
So I mention my wonderful idea and chethan immediately sees an opportunity for a great video.The moment the words are out in the air chethan sports a smile ... i name my act doing "tan kaal mele tane kodli" ..tkmtk for short :)
I make such a fuss that.. I dont want to harm the horse.. I feel sorry for it .. how can they do it to the animals.. we shouldnt encourage it....( my tone was hardly convincing .. may be i should project my kindness towards animals from now on.. i decide to join cupa.. )
But no .. chethan wants me to *experience* it ! So after all the fuss and knowing very well that i am in for trouble more from the human with the camera than the horse itself.. i mount the horse... but but i dont let go off the rope hanging from the tree which is used as a support for mounting .
i just sit there developing cramps in my leg as i dont want to come even in slightest contact with the horse and holding the rope as i dint want to move :). the smell and the hair was making me sick.. initially and till i got down which was after a good 300 mts :)
After all the kids gathering around the scene, which i am sure was fascinating to witness, started mocking and after shouting at them saying it was out of kindness for the horse and not fear .... i let go... the ride ended after about a life time!
