Tonight at camp we watched "Ernest Goes to Camp", which is a very interesting movie. Not only is it funny (come on, it IS Ernest after all), but it did somewhat realistically portray camp. Like, when they were tearing camp down many of the campers had tears in their eyes and i definitely had some FEELINGS about it. But anyways not to spoil it but Ernest saves the camp from the evil giant mining company. So now we know what to do if someone wants to tear down camp - befriend a wise old Native American, jury rig a catapult out of the camp van, commit several acts of arson, and get the camp back! Done!
I'm also taking this time to discuss other summer camps on film. The other realistic ones I've seen are "Meatballs" and "Wet Hot American Summer", even though the latter is a dirty nar nar one. And "Camp Nowhere" is ok but it gives the kids bad ideas. And "Heavyweights" too, oh yea. Anycrap time for me to shut up!
