favorite female writers/poets with themes of madness? Well i'm obsessed with Sylvia Plath. I love Anne Sexton, Elizabeth Wurtzel, Virginia Woolf, Susanna Kaysen, etc. etc.
favorite books on madness? The Bell Jar. Prozac Nation. The Virgin Suicides. Girl Interrupted. Etc. etc i could go on all day.
favorite films which document or hint at "women & madness"? The Virgin Suicides. Girl Interrupted
favorite quote, or line from one of the authors/poets/books/film stated above? Ummm i don't know. Probably all quotes from Girl Interrupted and the Bell Jar...a few from prozac nation, but right now I can't really think because the killers are in my head ;) I guess the one main one is the one everyone knows: "I know what it's like to want to die. How it hurts to smile. How you try to fit in but you can't. How you hurt yourself on the outside to try to kill the thing on the inside." - GIRL INTERRUPTED
