-Derpy enchanted Arthur was kind of adorable and I really wanted to cuddle him when he was apologizing to Merlin for being a disappointment, but I am, uh, pretty grossed out by Merlin just being like 'Yeah, let's remove Arthur's will, this is in no way problematic, nope.' :( I get that it was a desperate situation and he didn't have a lot of time to come up with a better option, but it would have been nice to at least see some acknowledgement of how incredibly dodgy and Really Not Okay that was. I feel like this is going to be one of those things Merlin never admits to even if we do get a reveal, because really, I don't think there's any way to tell someone "Oh yeah, I enchanted you so you'd do whatever I told you, and you don't remember any of it afterwards" and have them ever trust you again. :(

-On a related note, though, massive kudos to Bradley; loved the difference between him playing enchanted-Arthur, and Arthur-pretending-to-be-enchanted. LOL forever at the latter's ridiculous accent. Also, may have swooned slightly at him going instantly from cranky fake-enchanted Arthur to noble warrior Arthur when the bad guys turned up. And still automatically putting himself between Merlin and the enemy. ♥

-Tristan and Isolde are fun, though I'm not sure why they bothered to give them those names, since they don't seem to have anything to do with the legendary characters? Then again, Vivian's one of the names of the Lady of the Lake, and Merlin's Vivian didn't have anything to do with her either, so I guess it's not really a surprise. Hooray capable warrior chick; boo capable warrior chick being the one to get taken down and injured. Tristan being all protective and concerned was sweet, but still, I kind of wish it had been him getting hurt.

-Arthur's peasant outfit, aka the costume department going "Hmm, no, I don't think we've showed off Bradley's arse enough this year, let's do a bit more of that." NOT THAT I AM COMPLAINING. Likewise with Gwaine while he was over Random Goon's shoulder. Oh my goodness me.

-Merlin "couldn't be sure" about Agravaine? What? I guess maybe he was trying to make Arthur feel better or something, but I'm not really sure why he couldn't just say "Yes, I knew he was up to something, but he was your trusted uncle and I didn't have any proof." Possibly because then he'd have had to explain why he didn't make more of an effort to convince Arthur anyway, and the writers don't have an answer for that other than "the plot demanded it."

-This is not the sort of thing that usually does it for me, but man, Elyan looked really hot when he was all dirty and captured. I think it was mainly the lack of armour and that fierce attitude he had going on. They really need to lose the chainmail and have the knights going around in those lovely low-necked shirts more often.

-Speaking of losing chainmail, I love how Arthur's magically reappeared in Ealdor after they specifically showed it being left behind with Arthur's knight cloak. Oh show.

-Regarding the trailer for next week, whited out for the sake of those of you who skip them: Noooooooo DNW Dragoon in this. Come on, Merlin, even if you won't admit to your magic, surely you can come up with some story about how you found this magic sword for Arthur. :( :( :([/white text]

series 4, my feelings let me show you them, merlin
