This one ... actually did not piss me off? My biggest objection was Guinevere wearing eyeliner while washing her hair, which is really quite minor as far as my complaints about this show go.
I feel like Hot-For-Justice!Arthur and Hot-For-Guinevere!Arthur are two completely different people, but Hot-For-Justice!Arthur is kind of okay, so I can deal with that as long as he sticks around.
Still not a fan of Merlin, but am glad to see that the bad physical reaction to magic use isn't only reserved for the girls in this show. I think I could maybe ship him and Igraine a bit if he could stop being a dick for more than five minutes at a time.
Aww, Kay is ~clever~ and Gawaine likes it. ♥ I like Gawaine, too.
Morgan's 'I ~care~ about your ~feelings~' act was pretty hilarious, though I was saddened by the lack of hugging Vivian.
Actually liked this better this week, too. I am still grossed out by the blond girl (Dany?) being lovey-dovey with the husband, but it was really nice to see her taking charge a bit in a way that didn't involve sex. Am still digging the slave girl, too, so I assume she's either going to die horribly or turn out to be an evil traitor of some sort soon.
This one kind of generally seemed to be more interested in telling us about the world than in doing gratuitous sex and blood, so I appreciated that. This business about the irregular and very long seasons is kind of pinging my 'climate doesn't work like thaaaaat' buttons, but I'm guessing that's going to be one of those things I'll just have to deal with because this is fantasy rather than scif-fi that actually cares about the sci part. I also wish fantasy writers in general would read up on the evolution of human societies a bit before talking about things that happened 8000 years ago like they happened 80 years ago. I can never really get on board with pretending that societies stay frozen for as long as fantasy authors seem to want me to, it's very frustrating.
That's kind of it, really. Oh! The younger Stark daughter (Arya?) is awesome and I loved the scene with her and the sword guy. The sword guy was great. (So, predicting horrible death for him, too, or at least maiming.)
Basically nothing really horrible or off-putting happened in this one, so I reckon next week will basically be snuff porn to make up for it. :P
Oh, Cesare, poor thing. :( I am not exactly surprised by how that whole business played out, but still. A bit annoyed with Ursula - honey, what did you think was going to happen when you asked Cardinal Borgia to free you from your dipshit husband who insulted his mother and challenged him in public? Sigh. I suppose she didn't think he'd go so far, or something, and I can totally understand not being cool with it, but 'oh noes I must go do penance in a nunnery forever' still irritates me as a reaction.
And Cesare's speech about wanting to be something other than the name he was born under and failing broke my heart a little bit. I am more and more impressed with that actor every week; he's just fabulous.
Juan: still a dick in pretty much every respect! No surprise there! I did kind of love the looks Cesare and Mamma Borgia were trading while he was being a dick at dinner with the kid brother; Juan's such a moron and they all know it. He needs more slapping around.
The French king was interesting, though I couldn't help being amused by the fact that the Italians all have British accents but the French still have French accents.
Paolo's adorable and I'm really glad Lucrezia has someone who'll be sweet and tender with her. I do fear that that's going to end terribly; the bit with G. Sforza following the creaking noises was really stressful, though I was also wondering how the walls of his palace thing could be that thin. Still, they seem to be happy for now, which is nice. That scene with them together out in the woods was just so pretty.
And hooray for Lucrezia and Cesare reuniting! And hugging, and gossiping, aww. It is sad that Cesare lost his girlfriend, but I am definitely more invested in his relationship with Lucrezia (and his mother) than anything else on this show, so as long as I get Lucrezia & Cesare being lovely together I can't be too upset.
