Oh show. I was so excited by 3x01 and then I was a little worried, about what you were going to do with Mitchell mostly, but still hopeful, and then you had the play the werebaby card. Why, show, why must you do this to me?

I was still feeling okay during that first conversation Nina and George had, because good on her throwing him out and all, but then... argh. No. Just no. Even aside from all the werewolf-related reasons why them having a kid is a terrible idea, it made me want to scream. I absolutely hate the trope where a woman says she doesn't want kids but then it turns out that no, really, she does want kids, she's just damaged and insecure and afraid she'll be a terrible mother, but it's fine! Because she'll experience something traumatic-yet-life-affirming and then decide that yes, she will totally have babies after all! Oh, and we can mention abortions on TV, but no one can ever actually have one, not even when having the kid is clearly a terrible idea for the woman and there's no indication that the woman has any moral opposition to the idea of abortion.

I certainly don't want Very Special Episodes about abortion, but it would be nice if anyone ever in the world of television/film writing were actually brave enough to go through with one. And I would really appreciate it if we could do the 'A wants kids/B doesn't' conflict in a way that a) acknowledges that women can actually legitimately not want babies just because they don't want babies, and b) doesn't end with B deciding that they want babies after all.

In other news, I sometimes forget that Being Human is classified as horror rather than fantasy, but then they do an episode with a dead woman walking around and decomposing on the furniture just to remind me. D: Blood in general doesn't really bother me, but some of the stuff in this one was really hard to watch. That video of the other guy being experimented upon was also pretty damn awful.

I did enjoy Mitchell and George being dorks re: Annie fancying Mitchell, and I am tentatively hopeful that they won't fuck up this Mitchell & Annie thing too terribly. Though Mitchell really needs to work on this seeking-redemption-via-girlfriends-with-their-own-issues business. :P

Also, while I'm talking random tv shows... Man, I wish Morena Baccarin weren't in V and always walking around looking so damn gorgeous, because that show is kind of terrible and pisses me off in so many ways, but my ridiculous love for Morena won't let me pass up the chance to see her being all sexy all over the screen.
